WHO: Lavender Brown and OTA
WHERE: A park
WHEN: May 2, 2011 | 6:45 am
WHAT: Lavender arrives back in Lawerence! And screams here head off.
STATUS: Incmplete
RATING: TBA

Lavender was vaguely aware how cold is was, and she squirmed where she was lying. It wasn't comfortable, that much she knew, it felt like she was sleeping on the floor. Keeping her eyes closed she tried to remember what had happened, when had she fallen asleep?

Then everything came back to her - the battle, and those eyes those horrible, horrible eyes. There was a sensation of falling, like something out of a nightmare. And pain, red hot pain, which was so bad she wanted to throw up. And there had been falling and...people in white robes. There was a faint soft voice telling her everything was going to be alright and then...no, this all had to be a bad dream, a very bad dream. This is what she got for going to sleep on an empty stomach and listening to Neville give them a status report.

Her eyes snapped open, and she sat up suddenly. She had been lying on a park bench. From the looks of it, it was early morning, and she was freezing. She glanced down at her self and saw she was wearing a very simple cotton gown that barely went down to her knees. No shoes, no socks, no coat - nothing else.

Lavender glanced around widely. She didn't recognize this park - where was she? Had she been kidnapped? Were there Death Eaters lurking somewhere, oh Merlin had they lost. Or was she...dead? The thought hit Lavender like a rock and she almost fell back onto the bench.

She pinched her arm. "Ow!" she gasped. Then she noticed her other hand. Grasped so tightly in it her knuckles were white was her wand. At least that was something, some sort of luck - because her arm definitely hurt.

She swallowed hard and tried to stand, but her legs were shaking so badly, she ended up on the ground. Where the bloody hell was she? Lavender was scared. So scared she began to cry. As the tears fell down her face, her left cheek began to sting. Horrified Lavender lifted her hand which wasn't holding her want to her face to touch her check - when she drew her fingers back, she forced herself to stifle a scream. Her fingers were red.

Lavender began to whimper and touched her cheek again, feeling the imprint of two very deep gashes that went along most of her cheek and down her neck and past the collar of her robe. She pulled her hand away, furiously wiping the blood off on the robe's hem.

Now she wasn't holding back the tears, now she really was crying. She had no idea where she was, she had no idea how she got here, she had no idea where her friends were of if they were okay. What if they had lost, what if they were all dead?

Then Lavender screamed. She screamed loud, the loudest she had ever screamed in her life. She screamed so loud her throat hurt, so loud her head hurt, and her chest hurt - but she couldn't stop. She couldn't stop screaming.

Stephanie Brown was glad to be rid of the bugs. Seriously, those things were like... no fun at all. And it wasn't like she had a batarang maker around or anything, so she didn't even have an endless supply of explody batarangs to go after them with. Basically, she'd just had to load up on the potions that were floating around the complex and cross her fingers that she didn't run out while she was out.

Problem was, she had run out at one point. That had been a fun trip back to the complex, alright. Steph was fully aware that she wasn't the best fighter in the world, and without a wide array of weapons that could do damage to the creepy crawlies she was all but useless against them. So she'd spent a lot of the bug-infestation stuck inside her apartment, and being cooped up like that was not something Stephanie Brown Weasley Brown was used to.

So for the past several nights since the bugs had gone away she'd been out as long as she could stay awake trying to track down people--some missing, more injured--and get them the help they needed. There was another problem though, the military was all over the place, so she had to do it in her street clothes to keep them off her back. Wouldn't do much good to run around with a big yellow bat on her chest, would it?

It had been another full night of trying to help. The sun was already starting to come up, it was at the point where the sky was starting to lighten without actually seeing the sun on the horizon, and Stephanie's eyes were starting to get a little hazy. That's when she heard the screaming.

Turning and running full speed towards screams had become second nature to Steph. What sort of vigilante would she be if she ignored them, after all? People needed help and that was what Stephanie specialized in. It was only a couple minutes before she came skidding to a stop near a girl in white, the dew-covered grass making it a bit tricky to not fall over. "Hey," she said, breathing just a little hard as she crouched down by the girl. That's when she noticed that the other blonde was bleeding, and that was never a good sign. "Hey, it's alright. What happened?"

I took Lavender a few seconds to realize that there was someone there. Someone telling her it was alright, and asking her what happened. She screamed for another minute or so, until she couldn't scream anymore. Her head was throbbing, and her throat was burning. Her face also hurt, it felt like white knives where the gashes were.

Then she saw the other blonde. She stared for a moment, before attempting to push herself up and away. It was in vain though, her arms were shaking and gave out under her weight.

She raised a shaking hand, the one that was holding her wand.

"Wh...who are you?" she rasped, her accent even thicker with her hoarse voice. The girl didn't look like a Death Eater, but then again they were a tricky lot. Or what if she was an angel? She was pretty. Oh Merlin, Lavender thought - was she really dead? But if she was dead why did she hurt all over? Why was she cold? Why weren't there fluffy bunnies and people with wings?

"Wh...where am - am I?" she winced, the pain in her cheek and neck was getting worse, and the blood was starting to seep through the white cotton robe.

The wand caught Steph's attention first. When the girl raised it Stephanie instinctively put her hands up, trying to show that she was no threat to her. After all, she just wanted to help, not hurt. And if the girl was scared of her then there was going to be no way Stephanie would be able to talk her into letting her help.

The wand mixed with the accent was a big clue to where she was from though. British girl who's first instinct--after screaming her head off--was to point her wand? Had to be someone from Ron's branch of the (seemingly infinite) universes. Sure, she could be from somewhere else, but there weren't too many wand-wielding witches that had shown up that weren't from the same place as Ron. So the next thing Steph was going to need to figure out was when she was from.

And, okay, who she was in the first place, but that was beside the point.

Stephanie crouched down to sit on her knees, not really caring if she got her jeans dirty, hands still up in the air. "My name's Stephanie," she started, voice calm before pausing for a quick second to try to figure out which name to give her. "Stephanie Brown. Or Weasley, either one works and it depends on who you ask as to which one is right." Stephanie gave her a tiny smile then, trying to lighten the mood a little.

"And, okay, this is going to sound weird. But you're in an alternate universe. There's no wizarding world here, which is probably going to suck for you but there's lots of us that know all about the crazy. I'm not a witch but I'm married to a wizard if that helps. You're in Lawrence, Kansas. It's May second, 2011."

After a few moments, of very heavy breathing, Lavender lowered her wand. Mostly because it hurt to much to keep it up. If she wasn't so scared, she would curl up into a ball and sleep - forever. It was taking all her self control not to start screaming again, or crying.

She listened to what the girl said. Figuring she couldn't be a Death Eater, because a Death Eater would have killed her by now. The angel theory seemed less likely too. Wasn't death not supposed to hurt?

It was the name Weasley that really got her attention. Weasley? Lavender's eyes widened slightly and she stared at the girl. She tried to speak, but for a few moments she couldn't. This girl couldn't be a Weasley, she was blonde and she talked funny.

"You can't be a Weasley," Lavender said hoarsly, shaking her head. "I know the Weasleys and you are not one of them." For a moment she thought of Ron. Was he alright?

However all her thoughts on Ron and the Weasleys were dashed when Stephanie said the date. May 2nd 2011. Lavender's head began to swim.

"2...2011? Th...that's not possible. None of this is. Are you new at this Death Eater thing? Ju...just kill me already then!"

Stephanie shook her head at the you can't be a Weasley comment, a slight grin tugging at the corners of her mouth. "I wasn't born a Weasley, but I married one. Like I said, I'm not a witch but I'm married to a wizard. Do you know Ron?" If nothing else, finding out if she knew Ron might help her narrow down who this new bloody mystery girl was.

But then when the girl went on to talk about how impossible the situation was, and how she thought Steph was a Death Eater, the slight grin faded into more of a frown. "Trust me, it's totally possible. People show up here from different years, different planets, everything. The only common thread is that we're all from different dimensions."

Stephanie was aware that she was going to have to find some way to convince the witch that she wasn't a Death Eater. If she could talk her into walking anywhere with her she could just show her a newspaper stand or something, but even that much might be tricky. So, sighing, she did the only thing she could think of on short notice. She pushed up her sleeves and held out her arms, forearm side up so that it could be seen that there was no mark etched into her skin. At least for the moment. Some scattered scars, sure, especially the big burn scar that came from Ron getting her depossessed, but no Dark Mark anywhere in sight. "I'm not a Death Eater, I'm just a normal muggle girl. Well, okay. Not completely normal. I tend to fight crime in my spare time, but that's about as weird as I get."

Lavender tried to push herself to her feet again, but collapsed when the girl said Ron. This had to be a joke. How could this girl be married to Ron? That wasn't possible. Besides didn't Ron have eyes for Hermione? Lavender had overheard Parvati tell Padma that was why Ron really went out with her, to make Hermione jealous. That git, that stupid useless, man-git!

"Ron?" Lavender said weakly. "I...of course I know him."

How was this possible? She hadn't touched a port-key. She hadn't apprated. The last thing she rememered was Fenrir Greyback and the pain and someone screaming. Suddenly more than ever Lavender needed to know what had happened. Had they won? She looked at the girl's arms, and nodded slightly - still slightly unsure.

"I..." she began and then paused. She started to shake then, even though she didn't feel the slightest bit cold, her emotions were running too high. "Who...did we win?" she asked. "The war? I...can't remember," and then she started talking, talking very fast and couldn't stop. "I was on the balcony. Trying to hex that horrible werewolf man, I was never really good at hexes and than something hit me, and I fell. I fell and it hurt, it hurt so bloody bad," she was crying now, wincing when the tears got into the gashes. "And then his eyes, his horrible eyes and screaming, there was so much screaming..."
