Lauren had no idea what any of those things might have been like, but she understood some of them, non humans, dragons stuff like that. It was like something out of Lord of the Rings, she probably should have actually finished that book instead of dismissing it as flowery language and dull. But it probably was less dull when it was your life and you dealt with it every day. Mages and ghosts and all that. She nodded, listening to the explaination of ghosts. "Ah I wish that were true sometimes but no, ghosts turn up in the most unlikely of places really." Well no, that wasn't fair. Annie hadn't done anything wrong. But she got to be there with him. Got to help him fight what he needed to fight. It was more than she could ever do for him.
The question about the bug woman threw her slightly, "No she's...just sort of blue if that makes sense. This weird blue woman with tails coming from her head. Oh and when she speaks its in plurals. Like...we will, and we do y'know. Its well creepy." she explained, and it was, made her sound like those bugs that worked for her. "Thing is you're sort of lucky to have landed here, the people, they really do know what they're doing. If you talk to them once you settle in at the complex it'll get explained better than I can do.
Least they were nearing the place now. Lauren wasn't handling things as well as she maybe could have, the smell of the injured, bleeding, hurting. No she wasn't taking it well at all. But she was fighting it, and delibrately taking the long route. That and she hoped Jacen would stop her if things got too unpleasent. Still, she wasn't being as chatty as she normally would have. "Yeah...seal on a gate to hell, is what they say. It ripped open and it pulls us through..." Next alley down...Injured but not dying, not yet. Her instincts as a nurse fought with her knowledge that she'd just make it worse. "...Its just two streets away now, the complex." she said finally, she'd send someone back
