Well that had been taken better than expected. She most definitely approved of the reaction. There wasn’t the panic she’d exhibited on her arrival. There wasn’t attacking. Sure the woman was dressed oddly which might have meant she was from a place where that kind of thing was regular. Or at least not as shocking as it had been for her. She seemed to be trying to figure Lauren out, which was understandable. “We’ll get to the complex.” she told her, still smiling a little at the idea that this was actually a Captain. Of a boat. Even if she used to be and shipwrecking happened and everything it was still pretty interesting as stories went. Was the woman a pirate? Or did she fight them?
If this was Lauren’s first, ‘Welcome to Lawrence’ run in, she thought she was doing alright. “So that either means you’re used to crazy and accept me as crazy even though you’re taking this surprisingly well.” she said as she started to walk in the direction of the complex. She was keeping an eye out before turning everywhere, hoping Jacen lived up to his hype in terms of his ability to keep her...them now, safe. She’d noted the regret in the woman’s voice but it wasn’t her place to ask. She had more than enough regrets of her own without pushing someone else to share when she herself would never do so. This place had been a fresh start for her, dredging up the past wouldn’t do anyone any good at all.
She kept up a quick pace explaining as she went. The woman, she sensed, wouldn’t get ‘Star Wars Bugs’ come to life. “There are bugs, is what it is, killer insects. They attack and they’re fond of poison and generally aren’t pleasent. I’m not a fighter, but there’s a man somewhere nearby that is and he’s been keeping an eye on us. I was sent for medical supplies” she said, patting the shoulder bag she carried, “and now we’re heading back to the complex. I’ve been doing the little I can to help people through this.” Lauren didn’t know if she was explaining this even a little sensibly but she’d answer any questions Isabela might have
