"Should I start writing down all the things I can call you? Because you've given me a few already," she joked in return. "Seriously though? More reasonable people is good. Tempers can really flare around here, especially when things get stressful. I know there are days when I'm not someone you want to be around. Very growly." She made a face. "Those days are few and far between thankfully."
She nodded. "Especially when the enemy is someone who wouldn't think twice about hurting someone unarmed or stabbing them in the back. And there's a lot of powerful enemies around, especially ones we're not supposed to hurt because they're innocents possessed by the demons." It was hard not to fully wail on the demons she came across, going for the disabling blow instead of the killing one to take them out long enough for an exorcism. But it didn't always work and sometimes the host died.
"All right. No Just Vash." She arched an eyebrow, clearly amused. "So you make accidents happen? It's creative. Messy, but creative. If it makes you feel any better, we make a lot of mess in my line of work too. Vampires love tossing Slayers into furniture and glass and whatever else is nearby. It's hell on the bills." She stroked the cat behind the ears, looking down at him in contentment.
Vi looked up at him, expression slightly offended. "Of course not," she huffed. "You're a decent guy who is helping us avert the apocalypse. Why would I do that?" It didn't matter how much it was. She had ethics! "I'll have to show you while you're here. Delicious donuts."
