"Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, pal," she replied, gently teasing as she appreciated the humor behind it. It would have been a pretty ridiculous sight. "Really. I mean, you'd have to go out and get it but we don't have a shortage of salmon here. Plenty, in fact. From the store or you can go out fishing for it yourself." Although that would have been a little bit of a stretch at first if he was new to earth. "There's nothing wrong with wanting to live the quiet life. I can see how moving all the time would be old. I had to do that for a little while until I settled. Then ended up here."
Gunsmoke sounded like it belonged in a movie about the old west. Someplace with a stodgy old lawman who sat on the porch of the jail all day until some outlaw came rolling into town to cause problems for the townsfolk. "Doesn't everywhere though? It's just different problems." Her eyes grew wide as he rattled off his name, fingers temporarily holding off on scratching between the cat's ears. "Seriously?" Off his wink, she broke into a smile again. "You're ridiculous. That's a compliment though." Vash the Stampede. That went along with her whole wild wild west theory. "It's nice to meet you, Vash the Stampede."
She shook her head. "Thanks but I already ate. It was nice of you to offer though." She returned to scratching the cat. "That's all right. This time I'm ok with being fooled." She leaned back against the cabinets. "Yup. People see who can put the most food away in a certain amount of time. There's several people here who can put away pretty impressive amounts."
