"Anakin, I'm Elphaba." She relaxed a little, glad that he didn't recoil from her complexion. It was still a strange thing to her that people here never recoiled from her because of her skin color. So many people in Oz reacted her with disgust that she had just come to accept that as a normal reaction to her. She was trying to get more used to this world, to people actually being accepting of her.
When he mentioned her seeming to be lost, Elphaba glanced in the way he motioned and she shrugged a shoulder. "Maybe, but I didn't have a set destination in mind. I just really needed to get out of the house." Even though she lived with her friends, the atmosphere in the house could be so stifling. Well, at least to Elphaba it could be, but she'd had a lot on her mind lately, and with the added stress of not having her powers, she felt confined. More than anything, she hated the feeling of being trapped somewhere. She needed to fly free, be able to come and go as she wanted, not wait for someone else to decide it was safe for her to go out.
"I know it's not exactly safe, especially since I don't have my powers right now, but I swear I'm going to go crazy if I didn't get out of the house for a bit." She looked at Anakin. "How about you? What brings you out here at this hour?"
