Booth was dreading seeing Buffy, but honestly he wasn't sure how they could possibly continue their relationship after everything. After the things he'd said, and the fact that Parker was there hadn't helped matters. He knew Buffy had wanted to help him protect the boy, but Parker was his first priority. He had to be now. There was no maybe about it, or room for error. If anything happened to his kid, Seeley would never forgive himself. In this world monsters didn't avoid attacking because the person in question was under age so Booth constantly worried. That wasn't to say he didn't worry about Buffy considering her job description, but she had super powers. He was almost 90 percent sure that she would be just fine.
Save for that, she also had her friends. Most of them were older, sure but they were still her group. There were many things in question, and the cons out weighed the pros in keeping said relationship alive, and so Booth knew the right thing to do was talk to her. Tell Buffy what he was feeling and the heavy things that weighed down on his heart. He only had nine years left ontop of it all. If it were possible he wanted to spend as much time with his son as he could. He wanted to get Parker prepared for what was to come, the kid had to know that none of this was a game.
And then there was Bones, she still didn't believe any of this was really happening, and he couldn't let her fall pray to a false truth. Their entire relationship was based on the truth. He had so much on his mind, and none of it was good. Booth waited at that coffee shop for Buffy with his cup of said coffee. It'd thus far gone untouched, there was too much to think about to add remembering to drink to the list.
