Who: Fred Burkle and open (or stand alone) What: Wallowing in sadness and guilt with loud country music and beer Where: Apartment 509 in the complex When: Present day, after Lust is dead and gone.
Fred Burkle was sick and tired of Lawrence Kansas and all of the tricks it seemed to have up its sleeve. Los Angeles had been rough enough with its vampire population and evil law firm, but it seemed like Lawrence was even worse. Fred found herself on her apartment’s floor, leaning up against her bed with a bottle of beer in her hand and a few other empty bottles in the trash.
Honestly, Fred had her moments where she felt like crumbling to the ground and having a good cry, but this situation was even a little more intense than that. She’d been a good girl most of her life, making her mom and dad proud with her intellect and morals. This brief stretch of time under the influence of Lust had been like a 180 for her in character and even though she knew she wasn’t entirely at fault for her actions she felt horrible about everything she had done.
She’d thought that she would have gone her whole life, or at least most of it, never setting foot in a strip club, but now she was banned from every single one located in Lawrence for lewd behavior. Just thinking of that caused her to have another healthy swig of beer. She hardly ever drunk either, but she figured that one more vice wasn’t going to kill her.
The sad country music Fred had on blared so loudly that the people one wall away could probably clearly discern the lyrics. Fred didn’t mind. She even howled along pathetically at parts, only stopping to let out tiny sobs.
Lust had hurt her in her wallet, too. She’d made a couple of outlandish purchases while under the influence not to mention the lacy underwear she’d worn for Lindsey. And none of it was returnable. She made a note to throw it all away once she achieved a clearer state of mind.
Fred lifted the bottle of beer to her lips to take another drink, but found it was empty. She scowled and wrinkled her nose, tossing the bottle to the side. Nothing was working out like it should.
