Tommy gave Kira a confident grin and a thumbs up that didn’t quite mirror how he was feeling inside. The city at night didn’t bug him. He’d been in juvie, and considering how many places in there had come equipped with power dampeners, he’d already seen, been victim of, and in some cases done some of the worse things that could happen to you on the streets. When you weren’t being poked and prodded and cut on by scientists, it was pretty much like any other high security prison: Survival of the toughest. That was behind him now, though.
Mostly.
It did come in handy, some times. In juvie you learned what sorts of things not to do to draw attention to yourself. Most people going in thought they needed to make a big show of how tough they are, how they’re badasses that nobody should mess with. Tommy had. That never worked, though, because by putting on a big show, it was clear you were overcompensating for something…and you’d just drawn a lot of attention to yourself. Tommy had learned quick that you didn’t make big gestures or awesome entrances if you wanted to survive.
So this time, as he walked up to the door to the storage place, he lifted his hand and held it out toward the door. The door began to shake. It started with just a little wiggling, but very swiftly escalated to shudders that nearly tore it from its hinges. And then, just as Tommy neared it, it just blew up in a spray of debris that Tommy put on some speed and dodged effortlessly. He wasn’t trying to stay below the radar here. His goal was to keep Greed’s attention focused on him so Kira could get things done. That meant loud explosions, superspeed, and possibly every one-liner in his expansive repertoire of clichéd action movie phrases. “What do you give the demon that has everything? An asskicking,” he snarked at the demon, seeming for all the world like a ridiculous moron that didn’t realize what he was facing.
Except the demon wasn't there. And some of this stuff looked pretty cool... Tommy caught himself halfway toward one of the shelves and, in agitation, used his power to blow up the shelf. Watching as the debris fell around harmlessly, he got another idea for how to draw Greed out and shouted out loudly, "Think you need a lesson on spring cleaning, man. Here, I'll show you!" Knowing it would have to eventually draw Greed out, Tommy began exploding all of Greed's stuff, shouting out little descriptions of the stuff that was going up in smoke as he did.
