The lake worked. Sam had feared for a moment that it would already be taken up by teenagers looking for a spot to get away and do their thing, but the area was empty for now and Sam was really hoping that it would stay that way. The trees circling the lake loomed above the car, but they hardly blocked the view of the lake stretched out before the vehicle that Sam actually had to pause and admire.
Admiration for the scenery would only last but so long when he had something more pressing on his mind though. Sam yanked his attention from the lake and turned to look at Ruby. She was watching him and Sam couldn't help but stare back at her, every muscle in his body aching for her to be close with him.
Reaching down to the side of the seat, Sam pulled the lever that was used to make it's adjustments and pushed it back as far as it would go. "Come here," Sam told her, feeling more than excited at the idea of them spending the last few hours that he had in this city together.
