He automatically put his arm around her when she leaned into his side. He was grateful for the fact that she had decided to get so close. It was warmer that way. That feeling of appreciation slowly began to fade though, particularly when Ruby began to whisper those tempting words of hers right on into his ear. He had no doubt that she would have pulled something like that to an extreme out there in the rink, but here, after all that competitive crazy was over, she was still playing it dirty.
Then again, this was Ruby. And he should have known better.
Sam swallowed hard, the hand running across the fabric of his jeans causing him to suddenly sink back further into the bench. Oh no. No, no, no. Whatever he wanted. As hard as he wanted. Wherever he wanted. This was all so very shocking to him. Not the suggestions, because they had already discussed their limitations more than once, but this. Ruby being so open about it in a public place, yet so frustratingly discreet all at the same time.
He was gripping his own plastic cup tightly, the hot contents nearly spilling from the mouth of the cup. It dribbled down the side, the warm chocolate drink smearing it's way across his fingers. Sam sat the cup down on the bench beside him and instead chose to look down, a low groan escaping him the second he realized that every action Ruby had made; every word, every touch, even the mere feel of her breath against his ear had resulted in leaving him with a very obvious problem. Sam immediately leaned forward, hands sliding over his lap and an embarrassed stance immediately replacing the former he'd carried.
"I really, really dislike you right now," Sam groaned.
A woman walked by, leading her daughter by the hand away from the concession stand. They moved past them and Sam shifted awkwardly, his mind half focused on how embarrassing this all was while the other half was trying to block out all the creative images he'd managed to muster within the past two minutes of Ruby verifying just how not nice she really was.
And of course she was just sitting there. Acting like she had done nothing at all.
