Kitty didn't think about a lot of her past romantic endeavors. For one, a lot of the crushes she'd had in the past had been more than a little bit ridiculous, for another dwelling in the past really wasn't a smart thing to do. It only kept you from living in the moment now. Kitty didn't want to focus on that. Though, she'd be lying if she didn't want to focus on her and Mike. Sure they'd lived through what was supposedly their future, but things change and just by having been through that things had already probably been changed drastically. Kitty understood that romance was hard. Being in a relationship and dealing with those sort of feelings...not a cake walk.
It was hard to like someone, let alone fall harder.
the one thing about she and Mike from the future that had been great had been Kitty never had to worry about Tina. Now, though, things were different. He wasn't over her like he had been in the future. That threw a wrench into things. He was conflicted, but Kitty knew what she wanted. She cared about Mike deeply. The two of them just made sense to her. They got along well. She trusted him. They had things in common.
Why did it have to be so complicated?
It was so hard knowing the kind of future they'd had. Things had been great before he had died. She could remember so much from that future it was hard to just leave that behind. Obviously she and Mike were more than compatible. The two of them worked well together. It couldn't be that simple, though. Then, she had to go and kiss Elliot. She hadn't known it wasn't Mike, but still. If she hadn't rushed. Of course, the young woman was beating herself up over it.
She was glad Mike was here, period. Even if she didn't know what to say, how much to push.
Closing the door after him, Kitty turned toward him automatically, sighing. "I guess we should. We can't put it off forever."
