Who: Harry Potter & Hermione Granger When: November 26, 2010 Where: Lawrence, Kansas: Mall then the street What: Harry has finally defeated Voldemort...only to be transported to a crowded American mall on Black Friday. Ratings: PG
Adrenaline still pumped through his veins, even though the war was over and Voldemort was dead. It was hard to get his heart to stop racing because he had spent the better part of the last year on high alert and even if his mind knew he could finally relax, his body wouldn't cooperate. The only thing that Harry wanted to do now was find a bed and fall asleep for a few days, if not longer. Breathing heavily a few times in an attempt to calm himself down long enough so he could drag himself up to Gryffindor Tower, he closed his eyes. When he found a sense of peace that he hadn't felt in a long time, he reopened them only to find himself in middle of a crowded shopping centre.
"What?" Startled, he blinked rapidly to make sure he wasn't hallucinating. When the scenery didn't change back to Dumbledore's office, he pinched himself. "Ow!" Now knowing that he wasn't dreaming and not sure how he had arrived at this shopping centre, he briefly entertained the thought that he had somehow Apparated. However, his musings were cut short when a little girl, who had been shopping with her mother, opened her mouth and pointed directly at Harry. "IT'S HARRY POTTER!" There was a split second of silence that followed her declaration, before noise seemed to burst from all around Harry and people started to mob him. They grabbed at his sleeves and shirt, tugging to get him to look this way or that.
"Mr. Radcliffe, can I have your autograph?"
"Omg I can't believe Harry Potter came to our mall!"
"MOM. GET A PICTURE OF ME AND DANIEL, OKAY?"
And so they carried on. Harry, unfortunately unaware of what was going on, did the only thing he could do in front of all these Muggles.
He ran.
Harry didn't stop running until he was a few streets away and when he was sure he had lost the last of the mob. Bent nearly in half at the waist as he clutched his side, he panted as he tried to catch his breath. Once he was more steadily breathing, he looked around to see where he was and found himself in front of some kind of electronics store. And on the window of the store was a poster.
A poster of him.
He blinked once, rounded the corner into an alley, and then tried to Disapparate. And completely failed to get to Hogsmeade, which had been his intention.
