What: Getting some unexpected and uninvited visitors.
When:today
Where: his hidey place on the outskirts of town
Warnings: idk yet

Dick Grayson no longer recognized Lawrence, Kansas. It was like the city had imploded into a grave yard after they lost to Lucifer. There were still a few people living here and there, mostly resistance camps from what he could tell on rare occasions when he rarely stuck his head out from his shack to check for people. He didn't want to see anyone. He'd cut off contact with everyone after witnessing the death of many friends and watching them scatter and divide. He hadn't spoken or reached out in nearly three years since the event. He'd given up. His suit was still with him, but he hadn't put it on since that day Lawrence became hell on Earth. It was doing nothing but serving as a home for dust and cobwebs, and slowly falling to pieces thanks to a few bullet holes and scrapes on that day he never bothered to repair.

His place was decently comfortable and deceivingly large. On the outside it looked like nothing. But the inside was what mattered. He didn't want to draw attention. He had a little electricity, a place to wash up though granted it was nothing as satisfying as a real shower would have been, and a comfortable bed he'd stolen. There were books on one side all stacked up on the ground, and magazines for entertainment. The electricity he had was very limited so he didn't waste it on television. It wasn't like there were any channels left anyway. He used it for light, and to power a small ice box he'd gotten to store perishables, and that was about it. He had a nice supply of food and canned goods. He was living alone and knew how to ration, so he didn't eat much.

Dick didn't follow the boards anymore, there just wasn't any point. He had a phone, but he never used it. Infact most of the time it was turned off incase anyone tried to trace it. He didn't want to be linked to that anymore. His comm was still active, but also shut down as well. Behind the main living quarters of his little shack that used to be someones apartment before it fell in, was a different room. One he used to hide in when he heard sounds from outside. The place was virtually a zombie free fortress, he had all kinds of things to ward them off, but they were nearly out of sight. Dick was reading a magazine in his dimly lit place when he heard a noise from outside. His body stiffened, and he immediately stood from the beaten down couch he'd managed to salvage and moved soundlessly toward the back rooms where he watched the main one like a hawk. His body was completely covered by shadows and next to impossible to see.

After their camp had been overtaken by the Croats, Ron, Stephanie, and Harry had taken to traveling right away. They didn't dare linger - not when there were so many Croats swarming the area, quickly explaining outward and making the place that they had once considered safe and as close to home as they were going to get in this hellhole into a bloody nightmare. They were all worn through real good, each sporting their own injuries (save Harry, of course, who was fortunate enough to get away with little more than a scraped knee) from their escape, but they were alive. In spite of everything, they were alive. Ron tightened his hold on his son as he walked, the young boy's head resting against his shoulder. Harry was asleep. Ron expected he'd stay that way, too, so long as nothing went amiss. Naturally, Ron couldn't count on that when they were traveling through the city on foot. He knew that they had to rest soon, not only because they were injured, tired, and emotionally burdened from what had just happened, but because their child needed to be taken care of. Comforted, fed, and safe. They couldn't carry him around in the open like this. It was too dangerous.

So, when Ron felt that they had covered enough ground for one day, he began to lead the way to a few buildings. They appeared to be abandoned, which was exactly what they'd need for the night.

But they'd have to be sure, first. Ron didn't want to go wandering into a building, only to have something that was lurking inside attack them. Whether it be a Croat, a madman, a demon, or something else entirely, Ron wasn't going to risk it. Quietly, he handed Harry off to Stephanie and shot his wife a pointed look. Reaching around his waist, Ron pulled out both his wand and gun, indicating that Steph and the child remain in place as he moved forward and began to walk for the door.

"Lumos," Ron whispered, the tip of his wand lighting up. He'd need to see inside. Ron knew that most buildings, like this one, were likely abandoned and dark. Since electricity was hard to come by nowadays, he could only assume that he'd be walking in blind without the light of his wand to guide his way. Gun held atop the wand, giving him double the protection, Ron tried to nudge the door open, praying with every fiber of his being that the building was safe.

Dick didn't like visitors. There were traps set up in his living quarters. But when Dick swore he heard a familiar voice, he took a cautious step forward from his hiding place in the shadows of that dark room. He was okay with the dark unlike most of the citizens getting antsy without electricity. Unsure of what to do with their time since they couldn't abuse it the way they used too for pointless things. Dick had grown up with the Bat Cave, and Bruce's paranoia. Darkness both on a literal and psychological level were things he could deal with for years without panicking.

Still, when he wanted to cook at times he wished he had more electricity then he could find. The weak amount he did have, was hardly enough to make canned soup faster then half an hour. The place was pretty sad looking when it came down to it. The city was once so filled with warmth and light despite the demons that occasionally came calling. He missed that too.

"Ron?" His voice first so the wizard knew someone was there. He hoped it was steady enough to convince him it wasn't a croat calling his name from the darkness. But just to be certain he stepped out into the open with his hands up to indicate that he wasn't armed. He stayed still for further reassurance that he wasn't going to come at the small group to eat them or turn them croat.

"It's me. Dick." He equally stared at the red head, trying to judge whether or not he himself was a croat. "I'm reaching for silver." He stated simply and with a slow movement he pulled a tiny shard from his belt. His clothes were more raggedy then they once were, but he sincerely doubted anybody would care at that point in time. Taking a slice into his own wrist to prove his lack of croat syndrome, crimson liquid dripped down his pale skin. No reaction. He then tossed the shard over to the wizard.
