The first few runs, Jack had been sore. He'd been cranky. He'd been really anything but pleasant. Finally however he was getting used to it. His muscles were adjusting again to the running, and he was waking up on time with little effort. His body nearly did it on it's own, but just to be sure he still relied on a timer he'd found in the kitchen earlier that week. It helped to train himself to wake up. Soon enough he'd be doing it without one, and just waking up to the sun. But hey, everyone needed a little help every now and then.
He was out front to meet Vi on time and even with a sleepy wave. Typically during the run he woke up a bit more and had actual words to talk with, but in the beginning he was too tired to form coherent sentences. Today was no different. But at least he wasn't scowling, he was actually borderline comfortable with all the running. It was becoming routine and that was something Jack needed. At least thanks to the last couple years anyway. He'd had nothing but routine at the SPD academy.
There were early morning martial arts classes. Breakfast. Mud run, dry run, self defense, then lunch, and then fighting whatever the monster of the day was, then back around in a loop all over again the next day. He'd gotten used to structure and it was something he wasn't discipline enough to give himself yet, so having Vi around helped. It helped him adjust to everything all around. She was quickly becoming a good friend, which was something he also wasn't used to lacking considering he spent all his time around the academy around his teammates who became family. He was learning he could trust Vi. She got that there were some things he still didn't get that were completely different from his future world.
"Sounds good?" He stated with a little confusion and looked over at her curiously. It wasn't often they went out. But he "Never pass up food. "He said through a grin and looked over the diner. "Is it a time warp?" He asked out loud without meaning too, he hadn't seen things like that before back home. but he recognized the 50's motif was supposed to represent the past.
