It was late, but she was use to this by now. The lawyers she worked for were in the middle of some massive case between two rich families, and they had her sticking around late just in case they needed her to do anything. Either a coffee run, research something quickly, print something off, call someone. Mostly she sat around on her computer and did nothing, or would fire off texts to Andrea, Clark or Lois if she got bored enough.

It was late, the sun had mostly set when she started for home. She didn't feel like calling a cab, and there were too many people to just start flying. After being stuffed in an office with cranky, slightly perverted men, she figured she could use the walk anyway.

Since arriving in the city, she'd mostly been distracted from such things as regular crimes. Shootings, car accidents, robberies. Kara had been so focused on demons, and what they could do if they managed to possess people like herself, Clark or the Martian Manhunter. He was still here, somewhere, she was pretty sure. Though human crime still happened, and she was about to get a reminder of it.

Kara was cutting down a back ally, another girl right behind her. She probably thought that if Kara could do it, then so could she. Though she was forced to come to a stop, arms that were crossed over her chest lowering slightly as her eyes narrowed. A man, worse for wear and looking like he had seen better days, was approaching them with a gun. She heard the woman gasp, and the man pointed the gun between the two of them. "Don't move!" his horse voiced croaked out. "Hand over the purses, girlies, and I'll leave ya's alone." she noted, quite clearly that his teeth were yellow and she was missing a few of them.

The woman started muttering something about not hurting her, and held out her purse, but Kara glared at the man defiantly. Her brain looked around for all of the possible directions. Finally, she looked past the man, noticing a trash can. Distraction, perfect. She'd learned to not make her heat vision noticeable, and she did this now, and the trash can over heated, and something in it caused a small explosion, the top bursting off, flames licking the edges. Eyes turned away from her.

As soon as their eyes were on the fire, Kara had been about to strike, before she heard someone coming. Tilting her head up, she saw....someone flying on a ...disk? Arching an eyebrow, she decided to see how this would play out. With any luck, maybe she wouldn't have to risk doing anything infront of people.

At the warning to close her eyes, she didn't, but she did raise her hand slightly, shielding. The boy had powers. Pretty handy ones at that. It was impressive, really. And when she looked back down, the gun man was on the ground.

Well, that had worked out nicely in her favor.

Kara nodded "Yeah, I think..." she turned to look at the other woman, there was dust on her from the trash can exploding. She looked terrified, like she'd never seen anything like this. Chances are, she probably hadn't. Eyes wide, the woman backed away a few steps, and then ran back to the way she came. Next time she had to go somewhere, she'd probably call a cab. "Interesting powers." Kara said, looking away from the fleeing human to the...not quite human in the air.

She hadn't been paying much attention to new comers in the city, but what she was seeing here was something that was more from her world, or seemed like her world, rather than someone local. The outfit and the abilities, it all said he was from some place that was more like home to work. At least reality wise, probably not planet wise.

"Wait a sec! There could still be more of them I wouldn't go that way!" Virgil tried to reach out to the fleeing woman, but she was already half way from the alley and he shook his head a little defeated. He forgot that people weren't exactly used to super heroes yet as a regular thing. That he seemed probably just as dangerous if not more than the gun man. Rubbing a hand against his head he frowned and moved the disk down towards the ground, closer anyway. Watching the blond closely for a minute he looked confused. "Good to hear. Not afraid of me?" He couldn't help it. How the woman reacted kind of hurt.

He was human, mostly. Well maybe not, technically they classified him as meta. He just wasn't so sure he was ready to accept it. He was just Virgil Hawkins. Static, a super hero.

"No complaints. Except that sometimes.." He said motioning towards the woman that ran with a nod of his head and jumped down off the disk. "Name's Static. I've been patrolling this area for a while now. Glad I was too."

Kara, who could hear the woman still, new very well that no one was coming after her. At least not as of yet, and she was probably safe back on the main street. She didn't share this with the flying guy, but it made herself feel better. "You don't exactly seem like the psychotic meteor freak type." she said with a shrug. "So no, why would I be scared? I'd be about as scared of you as I am the Angel of Vengeance who's here from home." but then again, she got along pretty well with the AoV, so maybe she was bias.

Readjusting her purse onto her shoulder, she turned to looked fully at the masked teenager.

"Kara Kent." she said in reply. "I haven't seen you around. When did you arrive here?" she thought Angel would have by now mentioned something about someone moving into her her new city, or something along those lines. Though maybe Angel wasn't even here anymore, or maybe she'd just gone quiet.

She glanced back behind her, shrugging. "She's probably a local, and I don't think they really have the hero types in costume here. At least not until now." it was probably nothing against him at all.

Virgil gave Kara a confused look. Those were names he'd never heard of. But apparently she hadn't heard of his either so he didn't feel to bad. "No, last time I checked I was mostly sane. But complete sanity's over rated anyways." He shrugged as he climbed off the disk, deciding it was safe enough. It folded like a fan small enough and thin enough to slip into the inside pocket of his midnight blue trench coat.

"A few days ago. The time travel thing really got me good this time though. " He grinned a little sheepishly. "Didn't even see it coming. One minute I'm late for school and the next..Well, Kansas." He thought for a moment and snickered. "Last time it happened, I broke something in the Bat cave. This time I can't think of any reason.."

She watched him casually as he went from disk to ground, and it turned into what appeared to be an ordinary piece of metal. "Time travel?" she asked, tilting her head. "Try dimensional travel. This isn't even my world." and by the sounds of it, it wasn't his either. "Bat cave...?" she asked, blinking.

Why did that sound familiar to her? "You mean, like...Batman?" she'd read about him, apparently from the same world she was from. Or one like it. Which meant this guy had to be from her world. "We must be from...sort of the same dimension" she said with a shrug. "Where I'm from there's only a few heroes that have emerged. Green Arrow, Angel of Vengeance, Red Blue Blur are the ones I've heard of." Either because she met them, or they were on the news. It was hard to miss vigilantes.

Considering she could have been one herself if she had stuck around, it made sense to watch out for them.
