Dick Grayson has too many siblings ([info]onatightrope) wrote in [info]wariscoming,

"What can I say. I've got a certain fondness for the people upstairs living." He stated with sarcasm dripping off his words. "Stupid Dick? Seriously, that's all you've got? Clever. Like I've never heard that before." He rolled his eyes, though behind his illuminated mask it was hard to see, the sentiment was there. And hey, sometimes that was all they needed to get the point across. He really didn't have time to fight him with fire lapping down the hall and through the walls, but he knew that's how it was going to end up. That's how it always ended up. Why was it always fire? Why couldn't they fight in cotton balls or something a little less hot. It was never a pile of kittens, or anything cute. It was always fire or water, or general doom. Unless it was a lame villain like the Condiment king, and then it just really wasn't worth it either way.

"You're going to kill us both over drug dealers? That's lame even for you Jason." As he spoke Jason went out of his eye sight, he tried to follow but the fire impacted even his better then average eyesight. It didn't help that part of his focus was on his breathing either. His attention was divided and he knew that was a mistake when it came to Jason and his recklessness. He needed to focus and hear him if he couldn't see him. Just like he'd been taught. When the enemy is out of eye sight focus on what is there instead of what isn't. He stopped searching through the flames for him.

Suddenly Jason was behind him. Dick had been in that position countless times. It didn't throw him off by a single step. He knew exactly how to change it up. He needed to get leverage. He could feel his oxygen starting to cut out and stepped back with one of his feet behind Jasons in a stronger stance. Bringing his arm across Jason's chest he thrust it into his rib cage, forcing him back and down to the ground harshly and breaking the contact.
