Dick Grayson has too many siblings ([info]onatightrope) wrote in [info]wariscoming,
Dick was surprised, it was nearly impossible to hide it too. He wasn't expecting Jason to still be inside the building. "Not quite, we've still got one going on. You're a terrible host." He spoke finally once he got his breathing under control, using his techniques Bruce taught him. He'd had issues with the Bat but really he was trained well. He could move through flames, or sneak in shadows without being detected. Unless of course one knew what they were looking for. Typically in Lawrence, people did not. So when Jason showed infront of him he stepped back and looked above where smoke was gathering. It was thick and dark, it made it difficult to see anything at all. If not for his mask he would have been standing off with Jason, blind. fortunately it saved his eyes mostly. The skin around them was still vulnerable though, the longer he stayed in the more ash clung to it. Dick had to slow down his breathing, but talking to Jason wasn't making it easier on him. It was wasting more air then he'd like.

"Better get out of the way, Jay." He stated with narrowed eyes. He was ready to fight his way past if he had too. The determination on his face was as clear as a book. The walls were already starting to get chewed up by the heat and smoke. Drywall crumbling in weak areas. He was keeping an eye on things the best he could, but if this kept up it was going to go south quickly. He focused in on Jason and his gloved hands balled into fists. "There are people above us. " Like a few poor souls was going to effect the Red Hood, but he tried. He had too. "This isn't the time or place. You wanna fight, talk, whatever? Fine. Meet me a block over after I get everyone out. But don't sacrifice them because you've got a vendetta against me. That's not justice." He seethed and started to move forward toward Jason. If he had to go through him then so be it, but he wasn't going to stand there and chat.

Fire was one of the few things that rattled Nightwing. He wasn't afraid of much, but it shook him. Bad memories triggered along with it didn't help. So many occasions he could recall. But he pushed through it. Everyone was afraid of something.
