"Too easy!" Gabriel clapped his hands together, chuckling silently along the edge of the dark rooftop. He would remain unseen. The illusion that he had planted on the ground, however...it seemed that the new Batman had decided to play rough with him. It was always the illusions that got it tough. Those poor, fake beings. Their lack of an existance must have been terribly difficult for them. Leaning forward, Gabriel focused his attention on the thug that Dick was rudely man-handling. "Hey, hands off the goods! I don't know what you're talkin' about, man!" It was kind of traditional for Gabriel to have his minions play dumb. This one was especially good at it. "Let go of me! I ain't attackin' no one! I was just here 'cause a friend of a friend told me to show!" Lies. All lies. How he loved them. Judging from the cranky look on Batty's face, Gabriel was already pretty sure that the boy was convinced that his precious costume had been whisked away by the man he was shaking around. Who else coulda done it? Surely not the talented Trickster lurking on a nearby rooftop! Legs swinging off the roof, Gabriel jumped off and into the dark. He re-located himself into the shadows. From there, he was able to operate his puppet while watching Dick a little more closely from behind. He wouldn't be seen. Gabriel, if anything, was talented at keeping himself from being spotted. Oh, the joys of being an archangel.
"C'mon, man! I didn't do nothin'!" The fake thug was really trying to win that Oscar. Bless him. He struggled against Dick's grip, arms reaching out to grab the Batman by his arms. Gabriel didn't think that the boy was too stupid. Given their last (and only) conversation, Gabriel was the only person around who would have had it out for him and his role as the Batman. While Dick didn't have any experience with the Trickster before, he probably would have had his suspicions nonetheless. The question was - how long would it take for him to figure out that the Trickster was behind this little gag?
