Meet-up Who: Remy & Belle What: First meeting upon arriving here When: Up to date, late afternoon Where: Out for a stroll and possibly a meal somewhere Warnings: None, probably, aside from possible language?
It wasn’t easy building up from nothing. Remy had shown up in Lawrence Kansas with nothing but the clothes on his back. He had accumulated up a tiny bit of money playing cards in the various bars in Lawrence and the starter packages they offered at the apartment complex had helped some, too, but it was nothing like the resources he had back in New Orleans.
There were a lot of differences between Lawrence and his old home, it seemed. For one, here the world was ending. He’d never faced any near-Apocalypses back where he grew up. There had been other dangers present in his life, of course, just none of this kind of magnitude.
Another thing that puzzled and interested him was the way Belladonna had seemed over the communications system. She had inquired about him meeting any new women and he’d had a hunch that she knew something she wasn’t admitting to. He would get to that later, though.
His limited wealth brought him to the door to Belladonna’s apartment what he might consider mildly ill-prepared. Remy wasn’t dressed to kill. His clothing was decent, but not exactly haute couture. Instead of showing up, ready to dazzle her with a nice gem, all he had to offer was a bouquet of long-stemmed red roses he’d bought from a grocery store. He hoped she’d understand.
