Sam/Ruby - Holy water!
"I know," he said, pulling her closer, "I know. I'm sorry." And he was. Sorry that his brother was a moron. Why couldn't he have warned her before setting them off? Did he not realize that Ruby was just as easily burned as the rest of them were? Of course he does, Sam thought angrily. Dean knew. In fact, if Sam didn't know any better, he'd say that there was likely a part of Dean that had done all of this on purpose. Sure, it was a good way to hurt their enemies, but they had allies who weren't able to stand up to the holy water as well as they were able to. And Dean knew it.
Biting back the need to seek his brother out and punch him square in the nose, Sam clutched at Ruby. The sprinklers were timed, usually. They wouldn't last forever. "It'll be over soon, Ruby. Just hang on." He was begging her to. Sam didn't like this. And as bad as this looked on his part, hugging a demon to him, protecting her to the best of his ability, Sam found that the only thing he was concerned about in this very moment was her. Not the demons in the room, not anyone who might be watching them. Just her.
