It was a relatively uneventful night at some small-time New Orleans bar. Remy had just cleaned up in a game of poker. Ever since his imprisonment in Stryker’s facility he had sworn to appreciate the good things in life. Good games, beautiful women, and fine liquor were the ones topping his list right then. Even as a a person who appreciated extravagance, Remy still needed a break from excess now and then. He nodded to the gentlemen at the table, winked at a young woman, and headed off to the bathroom.
Remy looked at his reflection in the dimly lit room, just examining his own features for a second or two. He turned on the faucet and splashed a bit of lukewarm water onto his face. After another moment or two in the peace and quiet of the men’s restroom, Remy made his way back into the bar.
He was a few steps in when he noticed that there was something odd about the place. Well, it wasn’t so much that the bar was strange it was just that he was almost positive that this was not the bar he had been playing cards in. Slowly, he examined every detail. He briefly wondered if he’d lost his sanity, but tried to look unsuspicious as he made his way to the bar. Remy took a seat on one of the stools and propped his elbows up on the actual bar itself.
“Pardon me, but what is the name of this bar?” He asked, in a heavy Cajun accent, as politely as he could in his state of mind.
