Who: Vi and Jacen
Where: The address he gave her
When: After the comm post
What: Something's not quite right
Rating: TBD
Status: Incomplete

It didn't take a prophetic dream to tell her something was off. There was an uneasy feeling in the bottom of her stomach as she shut the lid on the laptop and rose from her seat. Jacen asking for help, Jaina's implications. Yeah, something was definitely wrong and if she could help set it right, she'd help him out. Nevermind the suddenly complicated...nevermind. She pulled her hair back into a ponytail, pulled on her sneakers and coat, and started loading up with weapons. Two knives, a bottle of holy water, her cell phone. She ran over their positions in her mind, fingers brushing to make sure she knew where they were if it came down to a fight.

With a Jedi. She was halfway across the parking lot before she thought about checking Wikipedia, but wasn't sure if there had been any time. The less lightning flying around downtown Lawrence, the better. And she'd been training with Jacen. Hopefully confrontation just wasn't going to be necessary.

As Vi approached the address that he'd given her, the uneasy feeling in her stomach was only getting worse. She slipped one of the knives from its hiding place and into her coat sleeve, feeling a little more comfortable with it right at hand. Moving into the park, she glanced around, looking for Jacen.

Well that was just rude. She was rude. The demon was beginning to wonder what Jacen saw in her. Cause there had to be something more substantial than the hair. He supposed she was plucky. No he hadn't been a psychiatrist, But he'd walked around in one a bit. He did enjoy the mind games, thats why he was doing this job for Meg, her Daddy being who he had been. But Meg was a pale imitation. "Mind games, do you think I have to lie being in this guy. The things he's done. With the sister all I had to do was point out a few fun little truths about the fun of his past, and you...oh you're fun. My sister got all kinds of worries spinning around in that pretty little head of yours didn't she?

He leaned in as his hand gripped her shoulder ready to knock her out, at least for the time being. Or maybe he wouldn't. Maybe it was better to have her being chatty. She wanted to fight, and he liked that about her. He was close to her now, maybe too close, and smiling again. That smile that just hadn't been Jacen. "You're not getting away. Surrender, even if its something you aren't used to, might just be your only option. Or would you rather fight me. With his powers. You won't win. I mean you're strong, you're very strong but..."

Kicking there was unfair. It wasn't a pain that would floor him completely but dammit if Jacen was almost pulling at any of the Force he could get to make the demon hurt. It deserved to hurt. It deserved all the pain in the world for what it was doing to Vi. The demon doubled over loosing its grip on Vi. But it reached out with an invisible Force Grip at her neck before she might get too far.

"Tag? Fine. Don't try to run from me Vi. Besides I'm the closest you're gonna get to an honest answer out of Jacen Solo. Isn't there anything you want to know?" Any questions she was too scared to ask. It might amuse him some before he let his sister at her. And he would let her have her fun. Vi meant nothing to the demon much as she did to Jacen deep inside. And that made it even more amusing.

God, she hated this demon. If there was any way to corporealize it after it was exorcised out of Jacen, she wanted to beat the unholy stuffing out of it. "Right. The things he has done," she replied pointedly. "You are not him." For the first time, Vi was struck by how similar the demons here were to the vampires back home. They had the personality, the memories of the person, but they weren't them. Only in this case, it was reversible. "You haven't. You're just watching the movies, not doing the deed."

It was fair game. He'd used Jacen to take digs at her, she was going to see if she could hit any vulnerable parts in the demon's mental armor. As long as they were talking, she wasn't kicking him and he wasn't knocking her unconscious or worse. She stifled a shiver at the smile that just looked wrong for him, even more telling of the demon riding shotgun. "I am strong and maybe I won't win, but at least I'll go down with the knowledge that I didn't let some demon talk me into being a wuss." Not that there was wrong with surrender, when it was appropriate.

Sorry, she mentally apologized to Jacen, wincing as she pulled back and away after the kick had landed. It was a low kick but it wasn't as if playing fair was a possibility. She started to run but only made it a few steps before something closed around her throat. Startled, she stumbled and landed on her knees. Great. GREAT plan, Vi.

There was still the knife up her sleeve and the one on her ankle, two very sharp blades that could leave a mark. But there was a difference between kicking him and stabbing him. She couldn't bring herself to do the latter. It was still Jacen, he just didn't have the control. Why did this world's demons have to be such pains in the ass? It had been easier when she could just kill them. Sitting back on her feet, she looked up at him. And now he had a hold of her that she couldn't even break, no matter how much she scraped at it. Stupid Force, stupid Demon, stupid broken seals, and stupid stupidness for being so stupid to run into danger without telling someone.

She shook her head silently. No. She'd ask Jacen, not some demonic messenger who would twist it to whatever suited him.

He was just as good. And Jacen was practicly him now wasn't he. So all the evil he'd done was the demon now just as much as the Sith Lord. It was. And this girl wasn't about to make him reconsider that. She just wasn't. She was wrong. So wrong. "Nah, Jacen and me, we're one and the same now. He's gone. Locked all away deep inside and I'm the one in charge. So just forget about him and worry about yourself. Don't try and weaken me with all this stupid talk about me not being him. You know how we got Jacen? Made him hear them, all the people he hurt. And it made him sloppy, and weak. And I got in. I know the tricks sweetheart and I am so much stronger than him. In the mind anyway."

She was still fighting back, which was cute and all but this demon had a handle on the most impressive of the powers, even if he did say so himself. He'd seen Star Wars one time, topside. And that choke thing, he could do that. And the lightning. "Not being chatty little Miss no surrender. You don't want to ask him anything. This face, you have to have some things you want to know". She did, she had questions and he could see it so easily, just by looking at her. He moved closer to her, keeping the hold at her throat. Not weakening it but not forcing it tighter either. She wasn't supposed to die yet after all. She'd be a very boring prisoner then.

"What's it to be, cause...y'know, either we talk like this, play nice for a while or I'll get bored, call my sister and we'll have to have a little fun. It'll hurt. It'll hurt a lot and maybe you'll even die by the end. Who knows?" He shrugged and leaned a little closer still waiting for her answer.

"If you are one and the same now, why do you keep referring to him seperately?" she asked. "You're in charge now but it's only a matter of time until he makes you his bitch by Force." Different dimensions, different rules. She wasn't sure if that could even happen but Jacen was stubborn enough that if anyone could, he could. "Or he makes you sloppy and weak. Then he'll get out." Even if it wasn't possible, she wasn't about to say anything to feed the demon's ego. It had enough of one as it was.

It was tempting to give some smartass reply. In the face of danger, it was what the Sunnydale crew did best. Well, save the world first and then smartassery. "If I have questions to ask him, I'll ask him. Not some middleman who would turn the answer into a game of Telephone. I paid attention in class." Stupid. She should have run when she had the chance. It might not have done any good but it was an opening and she'd just let it slide.

Vi stared at the pavement, at his shoes, looking anywhere but his face, trying to buy herself a few moments to think while trying to give the appearance of considering the offer. She bit her lip, closed her eyes, and briefly considered trying the exorcism. No way she could get out more than a line before he tightened that grip. Plan B? ...was taking its dear, sweet time. "Ok," she said finally, quietly. "I do. I do have a question."

He actually had an answer to that one. "Jacen thinks its creepy when people talk in plural about themselves. Reminds him of an enemy he'd rather forget. But all that aside, he's not getting out powerful as he might be he can't do that". Though the demon didn't sound half as confident as before, different dimensions...that didn't mean he could break free did it. That would be completely unfair if he could. Meg hadn't warned him about that. She'd have warned him wouldn't she? Him and his sister. He wasn't weak, neither of them were weak, That wasn't fair of her. She was playing dirty and that was entirely uncalled for. He thought he was being nice as demons went. She was still alive and he hadn't tortured her yet. That was more than nice in his opinion. "He's not getting out" said the demon, more to reassure himself than anything else. Stupid Slayer, making him question.

Not to mention he'd discovered she wasn't buying into his taunting anymore. That annoyed him. He was considering tightening the grip when she changed her mind. Well that was nice, that was something. He could deal with that. Better than her telling her Jacen was going to get control back. The thought kind of had him worried now that he was thinking of it. He couldn't have that, couldn't have him taking control back. Mostly cause he'd wind up in trouble. Jacen was explaining, inside his mind just how many new and inventive tortures he could use on him, all the ways he knew to hurt. And there were so so many.

But the question. He could deal with that, he thought, hunkering down opposite Vi and watching her, dark eyes darting from side to side as he waited for the question wondering just what it was she could possibly have to ask him after all her protestations that it would be his answer and not Jacen's she'd get. That was probably true but sometimes he liked to use the truth. Especially with Jacen, it was fun sometimes, when he did that. It was entertaining and she'd never know the difference.

"You keep saying that." Would it be any help to Jacen if the demon was distracted, a little less confident? It worked for tripping up an enemy on the battlefield, but when it came to mind to mind, she wasn't sure how it worked. Thunderdome maybe? Two entities walked in, only one claimed the body?

And this was why it had been easier to dust her first vampires in Sunnydale, where she knew no one. The hesitation that came with seeing a familiar face on an enemy was costly. As the demon moved closer, she closed her eyes, head tilted down. Question. She needed one of those since she'd taken the demon's bait.

She blew out a breath and opened her eyes, hands resting on her knees. "All right," she said softly, staring at the ground for a moment longer before glancing over at him. "Does Jacen have a middle name? It really would make yelling at him after this is all over a little more effective."

He did keep saying that, and he would keep saying that. Because it was true. Because he was stronger in there than Jacen even if Jacen was pretty damn strong this was his world and he was a demon and thats what he could do, and she could just shut up about it and ask a question. Ask a question that didn't worry him. And he could feel Jacen inside, he was amused by the worry, and pushing back in response. He never stopped. Stupid pain in the ass, but then he supposed the powers were a trade off.

He readied himself for the question. Highly amused, ready to tear her apart even further, psychologically. "...Middle name" he repeated, thats what she wanted, middle name. He wasn't in the mood for this. Besides he didn't have any that the demon could figure.

"No, They don't really go in for it. But seriously is that all you need to know, his middle name, or lack of. There has to be something else you want to know about him, some deep dark secret you've been dying to work out." The demon was more amused than anything else by all of this. But he was going to have to work out what to do with her now.

"I'm gonna see about rope or something while you think, okay? I'll let the hold go once I'm sure you're not going to go anywhere" He could be just as polite as anything else. There was no sense in terrifying her just yet, not that he thought he could. She was one of those Slayer people. Not native but he was pretty sure she didn't spook easily
