Sam was going to take them down. One by one, right until they got down to the last demon. Then he'd use his power. He'd torture the answers right out - oh. Right. He was completely without juice. Well. Sam drew in a deep breath and ducked, dodging to the right when one of the demons decided to break rank and attack. It looked like they wanted nothing more than to see the Winchester brothers down. It wasn't new or unexpected. Why would they wait for either of them to make the first move? They were demons. They didn't care what happened, so long as they won their fight. And probably spread a little pain in the process too. Sam didn't plan on dying tonight though; he and Dean weren't new to the hunt and they'd figure out a way to take these guys on. A handful of demons were tough. But Sam figured he was tougher. Of course, that was just the arrogance speaking. The sharp punch that landed on his jaw disagreed with his talents on the field entirely. Ignoring the taste of his own blood in his mouth, Sam lifted his gun and fired again. The demon went staggering back, but it didn't stop the others from attacking. They'd be going at Dean too - which worried Sam - but he couldn't do anything about that right now. He had his own demons to deal with.
Sam shot at them again. One demon went sprawling onto it's back, head smacking against a nearby table as it did so. Sam fired again, struggled briefly with another, and soon found himself being knocked aside and onto the ground right next to the demon that had hit it's head on the table only a few short moments before. Sam turned on his side and began to scramble onto his feet...but then he stopped. There was something there. Just along the side of the demons neck, slowly trickling down...
Sam stared at it. Then he bolted forward, yanked the demons head sharply to the right, and began to drink. Everything else was forgotten. The scurry in the room, even his own brother. Nothing mattered. Nothing but the demon blood. Fortunately for Dean, what Sam was doing was enough of a surprise to most of the others that had been caught up in the attack that they, too, froze momentarily on the spot. What Sam was doing wasn't normal. Not even for them.
