Who: Ruby and two not unknown demons (spoilers for SPN S5) What: There's a new plan. This time she's not in on it Where: Outside the motel she and Sam spent the evening/night in When: Middle of the night, following the previous Sam/Ruby log Rating: High, themes Status: Narritive, Complete OOC: For the next while following this, Ruby ain't Ruby, she's another snarky demon that started out blonde and went black haired cause all the cool demons do that clearly. Oh yes people. It is Meg. But she's playing it safe so will be acting the part. Just a bit more bitchy if its possible. I know I know. But apocolypse!!
She’d let him drink. After all her protestations and anger, after everything she’d said. Sam had seduced her so completely and she’d let him take what he wanted. He’d looked up, stared in the mirror for a while and then he’d just been so angry, he’d dressed quickly and just stormed off, left her without a word in the shattered remains of the room they’d pretty much destroyed and Ruby didn’t know where they stood. He didn’t love her clearly. Not if he’d let the blood overpower him like that. He’d seduced her for it and she’d fallen for it. She’d thought it had been about her. What a fucking fool she was. She should have known better. She’d made him an addict. Azazel would be so proud she thought, furious with herself, with everyone. The plan, the whole stupid sorry mess that her life had become much as she thought it was getting better. How could it? How could she have thought she could have a life with Sam. A real normal life with the Boy King. Yeah, that was plausible. Ruby had paced the room for a while. Trying to work out just where her life had gone so wrong. And of course all she came back to was, right from the start. The Deal, if she’d never made it she’d have died in some normal way and Sam might have had a shot at being free from his destiny. She left the motel eventually looking for all the world like a hooker on the job, rumpled clothes, hair mussed up, no makeup anymore. None of it. And why should she. He didn’t care what she looked like. Feeling altogether sorry for herself and ready just to drive to the middle of nowhere and scream, Ruby looked around the lot for a suitable car to steal. Hers was far away in Lawrence and the Impala was nowhere near here, even if it had been, she thought that might have been a step too far. Even for her, and especially if she needed Dean onside. Even if it was a badass car. Besides it held memories for her, that car. Angel and a Demon riding in the back while Dean wisecracked. Then she and Sam had added to the memories. Damn him, damn him and his selfish damn addiction and damn her for causing it. “You didn’t tell me I’d fall in love with him” she muttered to a long dead demon, not noticing the flickering lights behind her, why would she? They could have just as easily have been caused by her. The voice though. The voice itself wasn’t familiar when it spoke. But the drawl was. Of course it was. That drawl was not one she thought she could ever forget.
“Daddy can’t hear ya Rubes, Dean-O saw to that didn’t he? Took my brother and then my Dad. I’m really gonna have to cut his heart out for that” It was a drawl, it was practically dripping with glee and Ruby realised with a start that she’d left her hex bag in the apartment, and she was states outside its range. Meg had found her way right to her. Fucking bitch. “Meg” she said calmly turning to realise that of course she wasn’t alone. She hadn’t really expected her to be. Some jerk in a suit that...Oh no. No, he wasn’t just anyone. He was another in the list of demons who had fucked with Sam Winchesters life more than he ever knew had happened, and Ruby did not want to let him know either. “Brady”. Original names and all aside, they’d taken to sticking with these three when topside. The names they had that had had a place in Sam Winchester’s life. “If he comes back and sees you he’ll fucking end you you know that. He doesn’t even know that meatsuit has got a demon in it” she said coldly glaring at the man and wishing Sam could just come back. Choc full of blood he could kill them both. End this. But she knew these two. They’d been watching. Waiting. They wouldn’t have confronted Sam if they’d seen him drink. They weren’t stupid. And he himself was long gone. This, was not good for her. And looking around she just knew it wasn’t even two on one, a growl let her know that Meg had found some pets to replace the Daeva. “What is this?” she asked stepping forward, watching the ground. They wouldn’t have been stupid enough for a trap. She could pull them into it with her and knock them out till Sam came back. And she had her...
“Give it” said Meg, while Brady just smirked. It was all he had to do to piss Ruby off. The whole situation was. They’d all been friends once. More than that...they’d all believed. “That pretty little demon killing knife you got, hand it over. You think I don’t remember how you work sweetie” said Meg and Ruby nodded, she wasn’t about to die here. If need be she’d vacate the coma girl. She’d miss her but she’d get over it. So would Sam if he even wanted her anymore. She retrieved the knife slowly, dropping it and moving it across to them slowly with her mind. Brady picked it up and right after movedtoward her grabbing her arms. She’d have to leave the body soon, but she wanted to know what this was. Call it curiosity. “You wouldn’t have come for me like this, either of you. Am I wanted that much?” she asked, and finally Brady spoke, condescending as ever and shaking his head. “Sammy Winchester, What is it Ruby, what turned you. Because he’s...well meaning and all but he’s a fuck up. I could see it even back then. Lying to his pretty blonde, pretending he was someone normal. Someone she could love. And I laughed, I laughed so much when I got to tell her all the lies her boy had told, all he’d left out. Jess, she didn’t even know him at all. Do you think you do? Think he lies to you too. I think he does. We saw it all honey, and aside from the fact you’re still as much of a whore as the Boss knew you were when he picked you for this...you fell for the ruse. You actually trust the guy you turned into a monster. That’s...special even for you”
Meg shook her head. “Daddy would be disappointed. He had high hopes for you y’know, and then there was Sammy...But don’t you worry, we’ll get him there for you. We’ll finish the job.” She said amused and Ruby thought that finally she knew what this was. What Meg and Brady were here for, they were here for Sam, they were too smart to fight him, but they knew she was a weakness. They were going to take her and make him break the last seal if he ever wanted to see her again. Ruby couldn’t let that happen, she had to get out, she had to warn him. Brady had her knife at her throat and she was going to die if she didn’t get out now. She’d find Sam, she could always find Sam. So without another thought she threw back her head and exited the body, a cloud of black smoke the only thing that was Ruby. She’d find a body and she’d find Sam. She’d... No. No. No. No. Something was tugging her back, words, whispered by a male voice. Old languages, older than she thought even she knew and then she was back in her... not her. Looking down, same hair, same kind of shape but no. This wasn’t her, there was a girl in here with her, a screaming screaming mind and Ruby had forgotten how that felt. She shut it down and opened her eyes too see, herself. A smirk she knew plastered on the features she’d come to think of as her own. And she even had time to scream before the rag was pulled around her mouth by Brady and she was dragged away. They told her as they dragged her, much as they’d like to kill her they didn’t know Sam nearly as much as she did. And there were no memories in her pretty brunette meatsuit. So she got to live. But as Brady told her with a twisted pleasure she'd once remembered sharing as he took her own knife to her new skin. She wouldn’t enjoy it.
