Jessica nodded as Dracula spoke, thankful that there was someone that was seriously willing to teach her what she needed to know. Hopefully, he'd have tips on some of the stuff that the vampires in her world could do, especially since it seemed like the small handful she'd come across here weren't able to do them. Like flying. Eric could fly but he wouldn't tell Jessica how or anything, which was so unfair. Because flying seemed like something that would make being what she was a little better.
But she did notice that he wasn't talking to her like a five year old, and that seemed to be pretty rare for vampires when they were speaking to the so-called newborns, which was another thing that wasn't fair. Just because she hadn't been a vampire for very long didn't mean that she was a complete idiot, and that's what so many of the others seemed to think of her. "Eric taught me the basics of huntin', at least," she said simply once he was done speaking. It might be good if Dracula knew what she knew, at least. "And glamors are no problem. They're like... the one thing that Bill bothered to teach me, and I'm really good at them. He even got mad at me once cause he had trouble overridin' one that I put on someone, and he was alive during like... the civil war or something. So he's pretty old."
That thought made her smile a little. She hadn't been all that fantastic at many things in life, mostly because she hadn't been allowed to try many things in life, but glamors she was a natural at.
"But anyway, the basics were all I really needed back home since, you know, vampires are all out in the open there and everythin' and there's all sorts of people who just want to get bitten." That made it a lot easier to hunt, when people were looking for vampires. And not looking for them to kill them, but because they liked being bitten and everything. But here that wasn't really the case. Here hardly anyone knew that vampires were real and out of the ones that did know there didn't seem to be very many that were willing to offer themselves for a meal. Even if a bite seriously wasn't just going to kill them or turn them or anything like that.
