Puck was going to chime in about the only acceptable weapon usage being from ninjas, but he stopped when Jack mentioned being a thief. A former thief? Or was he still a thief now? Maybe a thief on a break from all that thievery? Puck eyed Jack suspiciously, hands sliding into the pockets of his jeans. He wanted to make sure that his wallet was still there - which, yep, it currently was - in case that former thief had decided to snag it from him while he had been distractedly chatting at him. "What do you mean? You used to steal from people?" Not that Puck could criticize him for doing so. He was a Grade A menace back home himself. When something bad went down, people didn't even think twice before pointing their fingers at him. Sometimes it wasn't even him and they'd lay on the blame, but whatever. That was a good thing, wasn't it? It meant that Puck had built himself up a rep. Not a very respectable one, but people knew his name. He was the good looking football player who never left any chick unhappy during a hook-up. Save for, you know, the part where he moved on swiftly afterward. What? He was a man. He had needs. One woman just wasn't gonna cut it for Puckzilla.
"It's a good thing I know how to use 'em," Puck replied, shrugging. "I've been swinging these bad boys around since before I could stand on both legs. There's no one out there stupid enough to screw around with me." Except maybe Finn. But Finn had a good reason to slug him. And Puck hadn't been looking to win that fight...not exactly, anyway. He had gotten Quinn pregnant. It was a violation of the bro code, which Puck was fully aware of. Didn't make what happened vanish into thin air, did it? Either way, Puck had accepted that he had screwed up. He was trying to go back and take care of Quinn. He wanted to make sure that his kid was safe when she got here. Because while Puck may have been a lot of terrible things? He wasn't going to be a no good, deadbeat father.
Not like the one he had.
"So what are we lookin' for anyway?" Puck inquired, scanning the dark streets. "More baddies to bust? People walking straight out of the front doors of buildings? Do you really think we're gonna run into that kind of stupid twice in the same night?"
