Jack just decided it was safer not trying to explain it all and rolled his eyes. "I'm not either. But it is where I'm from, so it's weird coming here and people not knowing." He admitted with a shrug and watched the kid punch air again. He didn't really understand what he was trying to do, so he let it go and raised an eyebrow. "Well at least you're right about that. I never had to use weapons when I was a thief. " Jack stated before he realized what he was saying, and chewed his lip hesitantly hoping maybe Puck wouldn't even realize what he'd said, and moved on like he hadn't said anything at all.
Jack could only stare as the kid tried to show off his muscles and reply shortly "They don't mean anything if you don't know how to use them. " And left it at that as he rounded a corner with Puck in toe. It was his turn to give Puck an exasperated look when the kid pointedly stopped to show off his arms. Puck reminded him of so many stereotypes he hated. But Jack was always willing to try and give everyone a chance. He hoped there was more to the jock then met the eye. Really hoped.
He didn't have a goal for the night, there was no real point to his search. It was just patrol. Maybe a good round or two would soften the kids ego a bit. "Keep your eyes open." He hadn't really wanted a partner, but he couldn't just stop patrol in the middle, and letting Puck go back on his own with all the clones was definitely a bad plan. So he really hoped the kid knew patrol wasn't a game.
