WHO: Arthur and Merlin
WHAT: Chinese Food Picnic
WHEN: Sunday Night
WHERE: Their Apartment
RATING: G
"Arthur!" Merlin sat on the floor of their apartment living room unpacking plastic bags with large smiley faces on them, placing small Chinese take-out boxes across the small coffee table. Those curious little boxes that weren't quite squares, with little metal wire handles full of lo mien, fried rice, and white rice. Styrofoam and plastic containers with beef and broccoli, sweet and sour chicken, egg rolls, and general tso chicken. A handful of soy and duck sauce packets fell out of the bag with their chopsticks and fortune cookies. "Arthur! Dinner!" He called again, now inspecting the chopsticks, and the instructions printed on the paper holders. Merlin had set out two plates for them, eager to try all of the strange new food, but discovering that would be difficult if he couldn't grasp the food with the sticks. Was he meant to impale the food with them? The tips were hardly sharp enough, but picking things up with the tips of both sticks seemed just as unlikely. The sorcerer waited a moment, snacking on an egg roll for the time being as he flicked on their little television. The discovery channel flickering to life on the screen. It and the history channel were his favorites...Well, and cartoons. Mostly the first two though. He grinned as the end of Mythbusters came on. "I have Chinese food. Don't ask me how we're meant to eat it, but you're supposed to use these sticks. Egg rolls are good though." Merlin said, holding up a pair of chopsticks as he heard Arthur wander into the room |
