This is the world of Pokémon, and regardless of where you showed up, the local Professors and law enforcement are there to help you find your way. Perhaps you're separated from your friends or your family and need to find your way back to them. Perhaps you're alone and have nobody here. Either way, you won't be alone, for long. The Pokémon world can be perilous and some of you might not make it very far in the wilds without a sidekick to protect you from whatever waits out there, lurking in the tall grass.

Nobody is totally sure how you got here... but there are lots of Legendary Pokémon out there that could have been responsible for the rift that brought you here. It could have been Hoopa, Giratina, Palkia... there are so many different Pokémon that deal in multi-dimensional travel, the Professors and their assistants will all be working around the clock trying to figure it out. In the meantime, you're going to stick out like a sore thumb if you don't have something in this world.

Will your character pick the classic Charmander from Kanto, whose fiery breath can melt steel? Or will they land somewhere more exotic like Unova, where they might find themselves a sweet little Oshawott who's ready to face armies with its scalchop? Wherever they end up, they'll be shown the ropes of this new world they're in, and given their very own starter Pokémon to raise and train into something stronger, more evolved.

It's really not so different from having a pet, these pets just have superpowers and come with a handy-dandy little ball to carry their digitized forms in so they stay nice and safe when you don't need them. Or, you can just let them walk beside you. It's your Pokémon, after all!

So... are you going to come take on your very own Pokémon adventure like the original trio, or will you stay put and observe until you're more comfortable heading into the "wide open"?
