Something about the hills of Appalachia hits differently. The son rises and sets on the small, rural area of Burkesville, KY just like every other small town in America. In some ways, it's almost like getting transported in time. Everyone knows everyone, the sheriff will flash his lights but won't pull you over, everyone had the same high school English teacher. People still sit on their front porches and the kids still ride the streets on their bicycles.

Unlike every other small town in America, however, Burkesville has a secret. If you happen to see a rock flying towards a man with water encircling his wrists, don't mind it. The town was the subject of a government study in the 1920s and hasn't been quite the same since. Everyone in town has a Psychokinesis ability. Kids are raised knowing to protect the secret, and adults do their best to make sure their little town goes unnoticed.

But what if someone new moves to town? Well, don't worry - they'll start to develop the same abilities as everyone else, even if it doesn't come as naturally to them at first. And how do they convince people to stay quiet about it? Easy. They don't have to force it. Once you develop the powers, the desire to protect it simply comes natural.
