Welcome to newcastle, rhode island. city of mystery. of enchantment. and the finest merchandise this side of the atlantic, come on down! wait, don’t go! we can see that you’re only interested in the exceptionally rare. we think then, you would be most rewarded to consider… newcastle. do not be fooled by its common place appearance. like so many things, it is not what is outside, but what is inside that counts. this is no ordinary community! perhaps you would like to hear the tale? it begins on a dark night, where a dark woman waits, with a dark purpose…

ursula, sister of king triton, wanted to rule the kingdom under the sea. she thought she deserved it over everyone else, but the only way to do it was to combine her efforts. maleficent, the mistress of all evil, was also plotting to take over the kingdom and teamed up with the sea witch to rule the land. tensions rose on both sides and while they weren't exactly losing, they weren't winning either. both ursula and maleficent slowly started to realize that if they wanted to win, they needed more time and a larger army. after weeks of plotting, the two witches plunged the fairytale land into a mirror world, one without magic, without knights, without their memories of their true lives. by doing so, the women caused all the fairytale inhabitants to live their lives without the things that made them special. they had to deal with jobs, with taxes, rent, ways to make a living and as each day moved on, ursula and maleficent tried to turn the good guys into more bad guys. if they could convince more people to turn dark, they would be able to open up the world to the other side and finally return to where it all started, to take over the kingdoms.

Lions live in groups, known as Prides, and are one of the few feline strains to do so. Each Pride is lead by a dominant male (the First), frequently accompanied by a dominant female (the Second), but it is the females who form the stable social unit of any Pride; membership only changes with the birth or death of lionesses. In the wild males must leave the Pride upon reaching adulthood but Shifter lions are known to be more tolerant of their offspring and siblings. That being said, dominant males have been known to grievously injure -even kill- any lions they view as a threat to their place in the Pride. Head rubbing and licking are common social behaviours within a Pride and help to strengthen the bond between its members. Lion Shifters are fairly inactive during the day, spending much of their time resting and lazying around. They are far more active at night, generally peaking after dusk with a period of socialising and grooming. Many lion Shifters will claim their species began with Sekhmet, an Egyptian warrior goddess who was often depicted as a lioness and was believed to be the fiercest hunter in all of Egypt.

LUNAR CRY • A FINAL FANTASY ROLEPLAY   
"The cycle of the lunar cry began tens of thousands of years ago. A traditional dance of life and death between the planet and the moon. Gravity pulls like a tide, and when the moon's surface is so saturated with creatures, it bursts and falls to the planet. It's destroyed nations many times over. It changes the creatures here for the worst, and breathes life into new and terrible dangers. We do not know all of the variables for why it occurs, and it will happen again. We most certainly are not prepared."

It has been nearly ten years since the fall of the last sorceresses, and the anniversary of the last Lunar Cry approaches. The world will never forget the horrors unleashed by Ultimecia and her minions, but together they forge ahead to build a new and brighter future. Esthar has recovered from the onslaught of beasts from the moon, and has opened their borders to other nations, sharing the technological advancements they've honed over decades of isolation. Dollet has regained much of the control of the Galbadian nation as it once had, but the fragile peace is tentative at best. Timber has gained its independence, returning to full strength as a nation in its own right. The island continent of Balamb has seen a new age of development and prosperity. Balamb Garden and its heroes have moved on with their lives, celebrated across the globe for their bravery and sacrifice.

Life has become something better than normal, and not just for he fated six who saved the world. International relations are better than they have ever been. Entertainment as a commodity is no longer a foreign concept. But this peace can be nothing but short lived.

Humanity is flawed, and perhaps some cycles are doomed to repeat for a reason. Steps have been set in motion to shake the foundation of the world to its knees. The next lunar cry is coming, and it brings with it a calamity no one could begin to prepare for.

This may be the final fantasy...
Lunar Cry is a game set in the world of Final Fantasy VIII, allowing both canon characters spanning all FF games and OCs. The game is set just prior to the largest and most disastrous lunar cry the world has ever seen, and will deal with many post-apocalyptic themes.
