Rather than focusing on the "shock and awe" of outing supernatural creatures, our aim is a character-driven storyline focusing on the political and social issues arising from the integration of supes into normal society: think True Blood or X-Men. The NOLA natives have known longer and better than most the existence of the supernatural; the local palm-reader is a little less-than-right, and those bartenders aren't just goth for the eye-liner. And while tourists flock to the city, human and otherwise, to get a little dose of where the supernatural is just plain normal-- well, things have a tendency to get a little ugly.

In centuries past, mortals believed in superstition. They believed in gods. They believed in other worlds. They believed in magic. The mist between the world of mortals and the realm of the gods was thinner then, and it was clearer where they overlapped. As human civilization evolved, and fewer and fewer people chose to believe in the other world at all, the thicker the mist grew, and the more separated the parallel worlds became. Mortals were blessed (and cursed) to see only what they wanted to see. They went about their business and fought their wars unable to see that the gods were still very much alive and still pulling the strings as they had done since the beginning of time. Now, the gods use the children they have with mortals - their demi-gods - as chess pieces in their intrigues. This is where you enter. You are a mortal with a divine parent. You're not a god, but you are an important tool in their agendas. You may be that piece that stands between lightness, darkness, and utter chaos. We are Yaoi/Yuri/Het/gender bender/Mpreg friendly, and are willing to discuss other content you may have a desire to bring in. We are darker themed, for the most part.

NC- 17 very much welcome, but is not mandatory, and there WILL be sections for PG/R rated RP if asked for. Character death/torture very much allowed, but MUST be discussed and approved by those involved.

Plots are open, and the one who has created the plot for a particular rp story will be allowed to maintain creative control, as "storyteller", of that story. That does not however mean they are allowed to control the characters, simply the plot itself. Multiples of 'taken' chars are allowed, but must be in different RP's, unless there is reason to be mingled. There may occasionally be Shota, if that bothers you, you may avoid those stories. We allow for and encourage 'surprises', as long as they do not involve something drastic to another char, or a drastic change to the plot of someone else's story. OCs ARE allowed.

All in all, our basic motto is "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." Communication, and courtesy, and we want to provide a decent and friendly atmosphere for our players.

For many years, the Crescent City Institute of Magic has been one of the best schools for Witchcraft and Wizardry in the United States. Located in the culturally rich city of New Orleans, it has had its fair share of tragedy for such a praised and respected school. First was hurricane Katrina, which rocked New Orleans to its core, and the death of the headmaster as he helped the students evacuate. This last school year proved to be dramatic, interesting, and terrifying for its students. Like any high school, CCI has had its fair share of the petty dramas caused by students along with the ups and downs of boarding school life. But there have been other, darker, things to worry about. Last school year, students went missing and creatures never known before were been spotted and attacked students before being captured. There are activists out in the streets of New Orleans currently trying to alert Muggles to the presence of evil Witches and Wizards. There is also a perplexing epidemic of missing socks. Now, with another school year beginning, no one can know for certain what lies in wait for the students of CCI. Only time will tell what will happen, but there is one thing for certain. It will be an adventure. Crescent City Institute is looking for students to enroll in the 2011-2012 school year. OPEN SINCE AUGUST 2010
