Or, maybe not. A series of people, all around the world, are experiencing that very thing and, as it turns out, there's much more to it than it being just a dream. Those people are all reincarnations of fictional characters - imaginarily people from literature, mythology, nursery rhymes, fairy tales, etc. They don't have conscious memories of their past lives, but, boy, do they dream about them. Some of them even have special abilities related to their former selves. The dreams can be good or bad, but the one thing they all are is vivid. Those affected might feel like they're going crazy at first, at least until they begin to discover that there are more people like them, that these aren't just random, recurring dreams.

What happens to the old gods, once their temples have crumbled and their believers have abandoned them? Do they die, forsaken, alone? Or do they remain, still wandering the world, immortal, surviving off what little belief they can gather? Forgotten Gods follows the lives of these old deities, brought to America long ago by explorers or immigrants from their homelands and eventually abandoned or lost from memory. As their worshippers moved on to new religions, the gods' powers waned - for a god, at its most pure essence, is no more than an idea, and an idea is worthless if there is nobody to believe in it. Some have passed, forgotten, from the world, while others have fallen into madness. Some have simply tried to adapt, to make a life for themselves in this place without gods, getting by on what little scraps of worship and belief they can garner. Others are more radical, attempting to regain the power that was once theirs, to revive their followings. And then there are the New Gods. Gods of cars and computers, television and radio, cities and highways, all those things that modern Americans put their faith in. They are young, at the height of their power. These newcomers are regarded dismissively by some of the older gods, who have seen so many new deities rise and fall in their time; jealously by others, who wish to reclaim the power for their own; and by all with a deep wariness. Inspired by the world of Neil Gaiman's American Gods, this game invites players to step into the roles of deities, old and new, to create their own modern mythology. |
Main | Premise | Rules | Characters | Application A Seventh Year AU Harry Potter Roleplay For his final time, Harry returned to the Dursleys home after his sixth year at Hogwarts. Though the wizarding world had changed Harry so much, this went unnoticed by the Dursleys. Being his last year of school, the Dursleys were happy to soon be rid of their seventeen year annoyance. The day before Harry set out for the Weasley's, his Aunt Petunia had cornered him and demanded to talk to him alone. Her tone was not much lighter than it usually was with him, but she definitely spoke differently. It was as if she had been running what she was about to say in her mind for a very long time. After what seemed like ten minutes of information he had already learned from Dumbledore before his death, one thing however, had definitely surprised him. Petunia handed him a box. "This was found after your parents had died. I've never known what to do with it. Now that you’re leaving I think.. Just take it and go.” Saying goodbye for the final time, Harry headed for The Burrow. Bill and Fleur's wedding went over spectacularly and soon after, Harry and the Weasley's were off to Number 12 Grimmauld Place. Harry was at first afraid at what the box might contain, but with the support of Ron and Hermione, he was confident enough to do it. Inside he discovered a vintage-looking goblet, and a very worn out looking locket. The trio looked at each other in amazement. Hermione gasped, "Helga.. Hufflepuff's.. cup! And is that the locket?!" Seeking the advice of Lupin, they destroyed the two horcruxes with a very powerful spell that required all four of their powers. Remembering the box contained a letter, they hurried back to Grimmauld Place to read it. To their surprise, it was gone. “Kreacher would have cleaned the room,” Ron said, and they went to his “bedroom”, and searched through his things. The letter was there, it read, “Dear Harry, what I am going to explain to you, may not make sense now but I hope it will come in handy in the future. Keep this close to your heart, and remember it always. Your most prized possession lies in the place you call home, in the place you need it the most. I’m sorry I cannot give you more information, but I fear I’ll give too much away. I love you, Harry, with all my heart, Lily” After figuring that the last horcrux was in the Room of Requirement, the trio snuck into Hogwarts with the aid of Hagrid. The diadem was destroyed by the Sword of Gryffindor, taken from the Headmaster’s office. When feeling the last piece of the hidden parts of his soul being destroyed, Voldemort hurried to Hogwarts to confront the trio. The final battle between good and evil was underway. As Harry and Hermione commenced, Ron quickly rid Voldemort of his last horcrux, Nagini. Livid from the sight of his headless snake, Voldemort called out “AVADA K-” “AVADA KEDAVRA,” and Voldemort’s corpse sprawled across the ground. The trio, amazed, turned to see the familiar voice. Snape. But, we must remember the prophecy. "... And either must die at the hand of the other for neither can live while the other survives ..." |
:rules: :game: :apps: :characters: :species: :wanted: This whole mess began when some practicing Witches, in their ultimate wisdom, decided to try a rising spell. Now, a rising spell is supposed to summon the gods to transform those who cast it to the next level, igniting the powers within them... only the spell THOSE stupid f**kers cast didn't quite go that way. Whether it was a mistranslation, a wrong turn of phrase, a missed or added ingredient... it doesn't matter, as the next morning thousands upon thousands of humans had been changed. The catch? They didn't know! The spell had ignited some kind of special gene which only resided in those humans so now they could play mind tricks, have whack agility, breathe fire, shit like that which made us Vamps sit up and take notice. Our food was suddenly able to fight back and sometimes it was beyond our capabilities to stop them. There were some Vamps who wanted to reach out to them, to guide them and get them on our side, whereas the rest of us - the ones with their brains intact - realised the real problem. If a Mutaint (like mutants in comics, 'cept they aint) was to be turned into a Vamp, or practice Witchcraft, without knowing of their own power they would be stronger than ten Vampires put together. That gene is like a trigger - once turned it would release a whoole motherfu**king mixture of jazz into their veins. We couldn't have that. No f**king way. We still can't. So what we gotta do is find the 'Taints, and make sure that every single last motherf**king one of them is put down. Our survival depends on it. Witches' survival depends on it. Because if a Taint gets Turned... all Hell will break loose. - Bishop |

What would you think, if you stepped outside and saw birds, frozen, hanging suspended in the sky? How would you feel if you realized that it’s not only birds, but every living things, and time itself, frozen, on July 22nd, 1999? There’s no noise, no sunset, no laughter, no flashing lights. Only the world, silent and frozen in time. You could say it’s like the world has been abandoned, except for the people, more like statues, without a trace of fear, or any awareness of whatever happened and what is to come. From Heaven and Hell, angels and demons gaze upon this abomination... Assiah, Earth, has been, in their eyes, used to test a new dangerous weapon that could mean the end of the standstill between the two powers. In Heaven, the Angel Lord has finally returned after centuries of confinement... the once soft-spoken and wise angel is now bent on revenge against those who sealed him away. In Hell, Lucifer stirs in his slumber, and the land shakes. The Seven Great Satans are meeting in the depths of Shiol. This can only mean one thing... The third great war between Heaven and Hell is about to begin. What side will you choose? |
Quam terribilis est haec hora (How frightful is this hour) is a het and slash friendly multifandom game set in the context of a war between Heaven and Hell, with Earth caught in the middle. Due to the importance of the battle between angel and demons in the storyline, it will contain mature themes. While the story is set at the begining of volume 4 of Kaori Yuki's Angel Sanctuary series, knowledge of the canon is not necessary since the protagonists thrown into the war will have to discover the world for themselves. We are looking for active players interested in a wide range of roleplaying experiences, from political intrigue to warfare to every day life in a world gone mad... and especially for players who can keep the drama for the storylines. |
