RP: Sharing the Surprise Who: Hype and Coop When: Wednesday, April 11, 2010 Where: Hype's new house What: Zahara gave Hyperion a fantastic birthday gift on Sunday, and he is finally ready to share it with his best friend. Warnings: None
The Magpies had a game tomorrow, so when Hyperion had messaged Coop earlier, asking him to swing by the new house (they were so close to being move-in ready!), his best mate had let him know it would have to wait until after morning practice, the team having the afternoon off today to prepare for tomorrow's game. Fitz, however, had time and so came over to see the motorcycle Zahara had given him for his birthday on Sunday. After all the jokes and comments she'd made after his huge gifts to her, he'd had no idea what she might get or do for him for his birthday, but she'd definitely blown him away with this gift.
It was a surprisingly nice day out today, so he was hanging out in the garage of the new house, tinkering with things while he waited for his best mate to be done with the team for the day so he could come over. He couldn't stop his thoughts from circling while he waited though, thinking about how everything was coming together. Soon, he and Zahara would be moving into this house, preparing to have their first child, and they would be revealing to his sisters the different living spaces they'd concocted for them: the suite in their house for Persephone to utilize whenever she wanted, and the house Hyperion had taken the initiative to have built for Dora and her children. He had little doubt that there would be loud voices and perhaps a bit of magic when Dora finally found out about the house, but it would be worth it, he thought.
And he had so many other ideas, too, things to make the most out of the land they'd bought. He knew Gen was big on the greenhouses, and he and Zahara had already had the massive pool built behind their house, but he wanted more for them all. Some of those things were simply going to have to wait, though. He wasn't broke by any means, but he'd certainly depleted much of his liquid funds in building the homes. Selling the townhouse would help, but that would take time.
That was okay, though. Life was good, despite the recent tragedies, and he had a feeling it was only going to get better. Or, perhaps, he was determined to believe it would. Either way.

They were just days away from completing their dream, Cooper and all of his friends would be living as neighbors. Sure, they had added a few extras since then, what with Hyperion building that second house for his sister, but Cooper thought that it was perfect. That was what this was for, so that they could enjoy living together, even if that meant building homes for family members from time to time. It had actually got him thinking about moving Gen's old cottage, though he doubted Addi would want to move it to their property anytime soon. He thought maybe it was a good idea though if she ever moved out, he knew how much Gen loved that little cottage. It had taken a bit, but Cooper finally didn't see the place as tainted because it was the place she had bought when they split. It was just a beautiful little cottage that really did scream Gen when you looked at it. Yes, he definitely wanted it on their property before everything was said and done.
Cooper was still thinking about just where he'd want to put the cottage, as he walked over to Hyperion's place. It made his heart swell to know that he could just walk to Hyperion's home. Sure, they were wizards and he could have apprated there, but after his shower it had sounded better to walk over. He doubted he'd ever apparate over, not unless there was some sort of emergency.
"Hey!" Coop called out as he rounded the corner, though he wasn't exactly in sight of the garage. He could just hear the noise of Hyperion tinkering with something. "What are you breaking?" he asked with that hearty laugh, finally entering the garage. Hazel eyes grew wide when he saw Hyperion's newest toy. "How did you get her to let you get a bike?" he asked, sounding a bit mystified. Cooper got the impression that the letter would never let Hyperion own a bike, even if the couple were thrill seekers. He had always gotten the impression that she didn't enjoy muggle means of transportation, but then again Cooper really didn't know the letter well enough.

Hyperion looked up at Cooper's voice, smiling broadly, not trying to hide his enthusiasm for the motorcycle in the least. "Not breaking anything!" he answered cheerfully, watching his best mate carefully as he came around to see the bike. Coop's question garnered a sharp laugh from him, and he shook his head. "I didn't get her to let me get a bike. She got it for me, for me birthday," he answered, his accent deepening in his excitement. He stood up then, dusting his hands on his jeans before motioning Coop closer.
"Ain't she pretty?" he practically gushed as he ran a hand over the smooth, shining body of the bike. "Think Gen will let ye get one of yer own?"

The shock that Zahara had bought the bike for Hyperion was written all over Cooper's face, he didn't even attempt to hide it. He was impressed though, it seemed that the fiance had done a good job for his best mate. He chuckled as he nodded his head. "You lucked out," he told Hype as he came around to get a better look at the bike. A whistle left him when Hyperion asked if she was pretty, his head bobbing appreciatively. "Have you taken her out yet?" he asked, hazel eyes finally tearing away from the bike to look at his mate.
A laugh slipped from him at the next question, would Gen? He thought she might enjoy seeing him on the back of a bike though he wasn't entirely sure if she would be okay with him owning one. He gave an easy shrug. "I'm not sure, I think she might. She likes danger, but with us looking to start our family soon I don't know if she's going to get safety conscious."
🏍️
"Aye, of course I have," Hyperion confirmed, not even bothering trying to hide his smirk. Coop's reaction to the bike made the gift all the sweeter, and he was smug as hell that he'd gotten one first. "And it rides like a dream." He would let Coop take her for a spin, but he was just bastard enough to make him work for it.
He quirked a brow at that answer, thinking it would be a shame if Gen did get safety conscious now. There were spells they could use to increase their safety on the bike--they weren't stupid!--and it wasn't really any more dangerous than playing Quidditch, in his opinion. "Zahara is pregnant and she got it for me, so there's hope for you yet," he retorted confidently.

Just hearing that it rode like a dream made Cooper want one of his own so much more. He wondered idly for a moment just what sort he would get, would he want the same one as Hyperion? He didn't know, he knew he'd want to do some research. He wondered for a moment if they could do something with magic, something to really amp up those bikes. His thoughts had gotten away from him, until. "I wonder if we could modify them, make them more fun," he mused.
Another hearty laugh left him, Hyperion had a point. "Very true, I'll have to bring it up when I get back home. I probably shouldn't start with, Hyperion has one," he said, certain that Gen would know that just by him asking. He didn't need to sound like a five year wanting the same toy as his best friend.
