RP: Admissions Who: Hyperion/Zahara When: Sunday, December 10, 2009 Where: Their flat What: Zahara comes back from Dora's with news... Warnings: None
Even after Dora had confirmed that there was in fact a little bun growing in Zahara’s belly, she hadn’t rushed home to tell Hyperion. If she had rushed home, it would have put her farther behind with the holidays, and with there being a little Montgomery in there… Well, she didn’t think it was a very good idea to stress herself out more by wasting the things she had already baked, and they still had to charm tonight.
Zahara had left a little earlier than usual though, apparating directly from Honeydukes to their flat. It seemed though that she felt queasy as she stood there a moment, one hand resting on her stomach for just a moment until the feeling passed. She really hoped that wouldn’t last the entire time, she was going to have a hell of a time getting around.
“Hype?” She called out once the feeling had passed, it had only been a second. She couldn’t help the smile that spread across her features as she realized that she was going to be telling him she was pregnant, they were starting their family.
🎁
There was so much to do to get ready for the holidays, it felt like Hyperion was being pulled in a million different directions, but he was loving every minute of it. One of the best parts about filling in for Lavender was the fairly steady, reliable work schedule. Since he'd known that Zahara was planning to stay late tonight with Dora to work on charming candies or whatever it was his lovely fiance had planned for Honeyduke's holiday treats, he'd gone to work more on his Christmas shopping. The gifts he'd already bought Zahara were hidden away at his house, since Dora wasn't planning to move in until the spring, but the rest he was keeping at their flat, and he'd already gotten a fair bit of the shopping done. He only had a few more to shop for, and he was pretty proud of himself for getting it done so early.
As such, he'd only been home a few minutes when he heard the pop of Zahara's arrival. "In the closet, love," he called out to her where he was organizing the gifts he'd purchased for Fitz and the kids. Wrapping everything was going to be an adventure, but one he was sure he would enjoy. It was only a moment before he was coming out of the closet and through their bedroom to lean against the wall and look at her. Gods, but she was beautiful, and he also strongly suspected that she was pregnant, though he'd not said anything yet. He was waiting to see how long it took her to realize she'd missed her period last month, but he had at least taken some measures just in case, particularly in making sure she had non-alcoholic drinks both at home and while they were out, even if she'd thought she was drinking alcohol. It had been entertaining, if nothing else.
"How did charming things go?" he asked with a bit of a crooked grin.
🎁
He was far too attractive for his own good, she realized as she watched him leaning there against the wall. When he asked that question, with that ridiculous grin that she loved so much, she couldn’t help the musical laughter that slipped from her. She had honestly forgotten all about the charming, her only thoughts had been on how she would tell him. She still wasn’t entirely sure, though she was almost certain just blurting it out wasn’t quite right.
“It went really well...” Zahara trailed off as she crossed the distance between them, stealing a quick kiss from him. “Dora gave me some really good news,” she said, her smile growing as she said it. While she knew she needed to call Perse in the morning to see when she could get in, she also trusted Dora to know that she had performed the charm correctly. Besides, there had been absolutely no way she was going to be able to come home and not tell him. If she wasn’t trying so hard to play it cool, she would have been bouncing with excitement about it all.
"Well, more she gave us some really good news," she continued, biting at her lower lip to keep herself from just blurting it out. It seemed though that she was unable to help herself. "She pointed out how I've been running to the loo often when we get together, and how exhausted I've been with the holidays, then there were questions about just when I had a visit from Aunt Flo..." That smile of hers kept growing with each item she ticked off the list, she didn't bother mentioning her breasts because he had known they were sensitive for a bit now. She had whined about it during sex at least once in the past week.
🎁
When she stole that quick kiss, he slipped an arm around her waist to keep her close. "Oh, did she?" he asked curiously, wondering what good news Dora might have that she would tell Zahara before she told him. Only then Zahara corrected herself, and one brow rose in speculation. He wanted to point out that Dora hadn't given him any news, but he waited for her to continue instead. And when she did, he had to stop himself from laughing. So, Dora had noticed the signs, too? And Zahara hadn't. Somehow, this didn't surprise him near as much as he thought she anticipated it might.
"Your last period was in October, love," he told her quietly. Hype brought up one hand to cup her jaw before dipping his head to kiss her, soft and slow and lingering for a moment before pulling away. "Wait right here, my love," he murmured before slipping into the closet and going to one of his suit jackets. Reaching into an inside pocket, he drew out a small gift, tapping it with his wand to enlarge it back to its normal size before bringing it back out to her. Inside was a single flower, preserved and protected, with an ornament tied to its stem. He didn't say a word, just held the gift out for her to open, watching intently to see her reaction to it.
🎁
Her mind was racing when he mentioned when her last period was, of course he knew when it had been! When he came back with a gift, she had been practically bouncing with excitement. She had run through a list of things he could be getting from inside their closet, which was really only holding their clothing, and all of the gifts they had bought so far. She had expected him to bring back a pregnancy test, she had been so sure he was going to ask her to take it, or maybe he knew that charm that Dora had known? Her mind was racing with possibilities, everything from a test to maybe a furry creature of some sort for her to love on.
When he brought back a box instead, she was just a little confused, but she was excited to see what he had bought her. A gasp slipped from her as she opened the gift, just before she opened her eyes a little too wide so that the tears that had sprung to her eyes wouldn't fall. "Hyperion," she said in a soft awed tone, a watery laugh leaving her as she saw the little ornament. "Of course you've known," she muttered softly, just seconds before she slipped her one arm around his middle to press close, kissing him in an excited, but brief, kiss. "Dora knew the charm to check, I have to still make an appointment with Perse. I just... I couldn't come home and not know. I am confident enough in Dora's skills to say we've got our own little bun," she said with that ridiculous smile, her eyes filled with tears that threatened to fall. "How long have you know?" She had to ask, had he known before Dora?
🎁
She looked so touched by the gift, and he heard a little cheer in the back of his head that he'd done right, especially as she didn't seem upset that he'd known and hadn't said anything. "Aye, I've known--or, suspected, rather. I was waiting for you to realize it on your own," he admitted, stroking a finger over the side of her face lovingly. "Though if you hadn't sorted it out for yourself, you were getting that gift on Christmas Eve morning," he added, his lips curving up in that mischievous smirk he was way too practiced at. He'd wanted her to know before they went to the big party on Saturday.
He nodded at her further explanation. "I trust Dora's skills, too, but you should definitely double-check with Perse," he agreed easily. At her question, he chuckled and tapped her nose with his finger. "I started suspecting when your period didn't come last month." And he'd noticed, as his fun between her legs hadn't been interrupted. "And then you kept falling asleep on me," he added, his lips twitching in amusement. He knew she'd been overworking herself, but he also knew that it wasn't so much that she should be passing out on him nearly every night. "And all those other little things added up to our very own bun in your oven. Can't say I expected it this soon, but I'm very excited, love." He was going to marry this woman and have children with her, and he couldn't be happier about it.
🎁
Her heart soared, he really loved her. It was an overwhelming feeling, knowing that he cared that much. He had been paying attention to the little things, things that she had overlooked herself. They weren't one of those couples that were oblivious for weeks, or months, to the pregnancy. They hadn't expected it so soon, yet here they were. "Does that mean we're telling everyone then?" Zahara asked teasingly, as she leaned into his touch a moment. When she saw that smirk, she was unable to help herself. She stole another kiss, this one ending with her capturing his lower lip between her teeth for a fraction of a second to tug at his lower lip.
"I promise I'll go see her soon," she whispered as she pressed closer, careful of the box still in her hand. She felt a happy flutter at hearing him say those words, they had their very own bun. "Let's hang this up and then celebrate?" She needed to hang the ornament and put the flower away so that she could take it to work with her the following day. She was going to set it on her desk to live, a constant reminder of this moment.
🎁
"I'd like to," he answered gently despite her teasing tone. He didn't want to keep it to themselves. This was a beautiful thing, a reason to celebrate, and he knew it would only add joy to the season. He was distracted from his thoughts when she stole another kiss and then did that thing with her teeth, a soft growl sounding from between his lips. "Careful love, don't want you starting something you're too tired to finish," he quipped jokingly, fulling expecting a smack for his efforts.
He didn't doubt she would; he assumed that now she knew, she would want to confirm as soon as possible. "That sounds like a perfect idea," he agreed, letting his arm fall away enough for her to move toward their Christmas tree. He would let her decide where to hang it, but he knew he was going to love seeing it on their tree--another reason why they really should probably tell people, they were bound to notice the far from subtle ornament.
🎁
Zahara nodded her head. "Me too," she whispered, grinning more when she heard that growl. His next comment however made her gasp, and he had been right, she brought her free hand up to lightly slap his chest. "Too tired? When have I ever been too tired for that?" She knew it had been just a week before that she had fallen asleep before he had even gotten home. She wouldn't have gotten up if he had tried, and she had a feeling he knew that as well.
She turned to watch him head over to their tree, her heart swelling as she met him there with the ornament in her hand. "Where should we put it?" she asked curiously, as she lifted the ornament from the box, detaching it from the flower. As Zahara leaned forward to slip the ornament on the tree, next to a little bottle of her favorite booze a friend had given her years ago, it dawned on just then. "Holy Helga!" she screeched, almost dropping the ornament before it was even on the tree. "I've been drinking! I drank at Gen's birthday, and when we went out..." Her heart sank as the realization hit, she would need to be sure with Perse that she hadn't hurt their baby somehow. She knew there were mothers that didn't know they were drinking when pregnant and things ended up just fine, she just didn't want to take the chance.
🎁
"Your birthday," he quipped immediately even though that had been a tired cause by him pleasuring her and not from her being pregnant, but that mattered less to him than getting her to remember that day and how incredible good it had been.
When she joined him in front of the tree, he stepped behind her and wrapped his arms around her, his hands resting almost protectively over her middle. "Wherever you'd like, love," he answered, knowing it probably wasn't helpful, but he wanted her to choose. And then her outburst sounded louder in his ear than he would have thought possible, and he pulled away enough to stand upright again, chuckling at her words. "No, you haven't," he retorted, that smug smirk on his lips again. "Who was getting your drinks at Gen's party and when we went out?" he added, giving her a knowing look, trying to get her to realize what he'd done without him spelling it out for her.
🎁
Zahara flushed when he mentioned her birthday, she hadn't been thinking about that sort of tired. She had been so exhausted from the orgasms, he knew how to work her just right to give her powerful orgasms that left her exhausted. It was rare for her to be awake for longer after they fooled around, she rather enjoyed falling asleep in his arms spent like that. "I wouldn't mind being that tired again, though you have to promise to finish too," she whispered when he was close, wrapping his arms around her.
A gasp slipped from her as it all came together, her brows shooting up as she turned to look at him. "You did not! I'm one of those girls?" She groaned, lifting her free hand to lightly slap his chest again. "You're like one of those Hardy boys," she teased him, doing her best to give him a playful pout. While she was upset that he had been switching out her drinks, it was overshadowed by the fact that he had been sure to keep them safe. "I think I owe Nancy another thank you, maybe even Dora a very large gift basket," she said as she pressed a kiss to his jaw. "I absolutely adore that smug smirk, I think it was one of the first things I noticed about you."
🎁
He couldn't help smirking at her whisper, though he wasn't sure what she meant by that. It wouldn't feel right to have sex with her while she was passed out, so he would try not to push her to that point before he was sunk deep between her legs. At least then if he tired her out, they'd already be there.
Hype's chuckle turned into a full-on laugh at her groaning. "What's a Hardy boy?" he questioned with a raised brow, not sure if it was a compliment or insult. He'd caught her hand as she slapped his chest though and brought it up to press a kiss against her palm. "Aye, I think you do," he agreed against her palm. Nancy and Dora both could take some credit in their meeting the way they had. "Oh, was it? Lucky for you, I don't see it going away." He just couldn't seem to help himself; that expression was one that slipped out more often than it probably should.
🎁
"They're boy detectives that are far too smart for their own good. They have their own book series." She would have to pick him up a book, she thought he might find them amusing.
"I'll be sure to send one to Dora soon, with a nice little note too." Dora more than deserved one, for everything she had been doing lately to help out around the shop, as well as for everything else. She would have to figure out what Dora liked best, she might even stop by other shops to get things special for her. Zahara kissed him then, she was glad that look wasn't about to go away. While it might drive her crazy that he was always two steps ahead of her, she wouldn't change a thing about him.
🎁
Okay, that did sound like him, Hyperion thought with more than a little bit of smugness. He was going to have to look into this book series.
"Oh good," he responded, thinking that he was going to have to find something ridiculous to slip into the gift basket for his sister; their relationship had finally gotten back to the point where he felt comfortable doing ridiculous, obnoxious things to her like that. He was thoroughly distracted from his thoughts when she kissed, though, and he turned her more fully against him before slowly walking backward to their bedroom, hoping he wouldn't trip on anything on the way.
