Working these nights with Dora and the twins was something Zahara was going to miss once the holidays were over. She enjoyed spending time with them, getting to play with the twins while Dora engaged things, and catch up on what was going on with her sister-in-law. Zahara tended to come in later to work on these days, so that she wouldn't be so tired while spending time with them. This holiday season seemed to be kicking her arse harder than the previous year. She blamed it on a combination of start catching the cold Dora had, with the fact she was doing a lot more this year. Last year she had been single and thrown herself into the holidays, this year she had Hyperion, as well as their families, while still needing to handle all of the things at the store. Yet, she was looking forward to the big celebration this year, no matter how exhausted it made her feel to think about it all. She was equally as grateful that Quin was going to host.
Her exhaustion felt worse today, and she knew that when she went home tonight she was going to end up falling asleep in Hyperion's arms once again. She had dressed more for comfort than to look the part of manager, since she hadn't worked the front of the store. She had instead been in the back all afternoon, baking all of the candies that she and Dora would be finishing up later that night.
That first week that Dora had come to help Zahara, she had adjusted the wards around the store so that Dora would be able to come in through the front, even with Honeydukes being closed. That's why Zahara was still in the back of the shop, waiting on the last batch of small chocolate cakes to finish baking, while she sat in one of the chairs nearby. She had just closed her eyes for a moment, she hadn't meant to fall asleep, but the smell of burning chocolate let her know that it had been more than a moment. "Shite!" She cried out, and a second later she could hear noise in the other part of the shop. She assumed Dora had arrived, "Don't mind me, just burning little cakes!" She called out to Dora, while she pulled the burnt pan from the oven. Zahara lifted an arm up to cover her mouth as she let out a yawn, she really hoped this cold would pass fast.
