Lancelot had known just how he wanted to propose for exactly twenty-four hours. He had been thinking about which would be the perfect way to propose to Quin ever since she had said that she was ready. He wanted to surprise her, so proposing immediately was a bad idea, even though he had purchased the engagement ring already. She would have been expecting it immediately, he just hoped she didn’t think that he had changed his mind. It wasn’t that at all. No, he had just wanted to pick just the right moment, and that was going to take time and preparation.
It was their first night in their new home, they had just put the children to bed in their rooms, while Nancy was off for the rest of the night. He had planned it this way, while most things were still in boxes because he had yet to really send the proper spells around to unpack everything, he suggested that they might have a glass of wine out on the patio. He had been sure to put the patio as well as the bedrooms together, the only rooms that he would need for tonight.
Outside on their back patio was his large golden telescope, on the end of it though was a new lens that Lancelot had magicked. Around the telescope he had set up the scene, he had a small table set up that held a bottle of wine as well two wine flutes. He had kept the lights dimmed outside so that the stars above would be better to see.
“I thought it might be nice to have a glass of wine while we take in the sky from our new home. Celebrate finding the perfect home for our little family.” His hand was in hers, fingers laced with her own. He rather liked touching her, having her close all the time. He didn’t mind when he would slip her arm around his, but he preferred to hold her hand when they were just around the house.
