We may not have had any record-breaking temperatures this summer, but there's a lot of people who have been turning up the heat.
Gabriel Gomez went straight from one tough tournament to another this year, but it's not all work and no play for the Montrose Magpies Keeper. He was joined for a sizzling summer in his homeland by Tracey Davis. The two were apparently inseparable, but only time will tell if this is just a summer fling. We're used to seeing Gomez out and about with his lady friends, but so far things have been rather understated. That pretty much sums up Davis, though, and we have to wonder whether she has hidden depths to snag someone like Gomez.
The Montrose Magpies really are the team of love! It seems like only yesterday that she was frolicking on the beach with one hunky Quidditch player, but now Genevieve de Blacas d'Aulps is back with her old flame Cooper Vipond. The pair called it quits at the end of last year, but now the Montrose Magpies star has married Vipond in sunny Aruba surrounded by close family and friends. But why the burning desire to marry so quickly after their reunion? Perhaps something is baking, not burning for the Viponds.
Mrs Vipond's former fling, Oliver Wood has been burning the candle at both ends this summer. A string of women have graced his arm of late and now that he's back on the pitch the Puddlemere United captain seems to have stretched himself too thin with the reigning champions slipping to mid-table after just three matches. There's still plenty of time to turn things around, but that has to be a blow to anyone's ego. A little less time in bars might not go amiss.
At the risk of this turning into a Quidditch column, another fiery Chaser seems to have cooled off of late. After months of being a social butterfly, it appears Ginny Weasley of the Holyhead Harpies has found someone that can keep her attention. The redhead has been spotted with former Falmouth Falcon Marcus Flint. This West Country connection is sure to set all sorts of theories flying thanks to his fledgling career as a referee. That sounds like a conflict of interest just waiting to happen. Weasley seems to have done the impossible, too, and found someone who is even less media-friendly than her famous bespectacled ex.
Taking the slow burn approach are Kit Higgs and Astoria Greengrass. The photogenic pair have been dating for a few months now, and we can only assume things are going well; a source close to the happy couple has revealed that wedding bells could be on the horizon. Kit's big brother Terence Higgs and his better half, the creative mind behind Confessions, Silviya Capper, are reportedly heading down the aisle too. If the lavish birthday party that Higgs threw for a friend earlier this year is anything to go by, it'll be the most sough-after invitation of the decade.
Is Confessions' Logan Wood cooking something up with his girlfriend, Lillian Moon? On a recent date the pair were looking very cosy, but sources say Moon wasn't drinking.
It looks like one relationship at least has combusted over the summer. The last time anyone saw them in public together, Eleanor Branstone was singing melancholy karaoke and Gaspard Shingleton had a face like a smacked arse. Perhaps perhaps she's got her sights set on her newer, younger boss, Blaise Zabini? Sources at the Daily Prophet say that Draco Malfoy has been spotted around the office more too.
As autumn draws near, how many more couples will the sun set on?
