Who: Draco and Daphne
What: Date Night
When: April 15th
Where: Rivoli Ballroom + Others
Warnings: TBD - There will probably be a lot of warnings by the time they are done with their night.
When Draco had originally told Daphne that it was a surprise, he hadn’t had a clue as to where he was going to take her that night. He knew that he wanted something different, he wanted to take her somewhere she had never been before. His dating abilities, he thought, had improved since his school days. Traveling had opened up Draco’s world and he wanted to share that with Daphne. Since coming home, he had that feeling that he wanted to show people the new Draco. He knew he had touched base with friends over the years, but this was going to be the first time he had spent substantial time alone with someone from London that wasn’t Blaise. He wanted to impress.
Draco arrived at Daphne’s home at exactly seven, dressed in one of his favorite black and on black suits, tie not included. They were off moments later, Draco apparating them to an alley that was just a few blocks away from their destination, The Rivoli Ballroom. Tonight was the Jive Party, where they would have live music and a jive band. Draco knew not everyone knew how to dance to that sort of music, he barely did himself, but it was always a good time. He knew the ballroom wouldn’t have food tonight, he had plans for their food later. He was half intending to take Daphne home and cook for her, home being Blaise’s country house where he had his own room of course. He couldn’t cook much but he had grown to like making breakfast foods for dinner, especially for his dates. It was always the best food to have after a night filled with alcohol, he was very much intending to get them both a bit drunk while they danced.
“I hope you don’t mind, I thought we would start our night off with some dancing and drinks. They’ve got a live jive band that’ll be going on in a…” Draco lifted an arm to look at his watch, “Half hour.” He gave her a sly smile then, holding his own arm out for Daphne. “We can get food after, if you’d like?” It was the setup, if she wanted food after he was going to suggest the breakfast food idea he had.
As they reached the doors to the Rivoli Ballroom, he stepped forward to hold the door open for her. He had already reserved a table near the bar for them that had a good view of the dance floor. It was far enough away from the band that he’d be able to talk to her without shouting because who wanted their date screaming at them all night?
