Who: Dora and Alec
When: morning, January 20
Where: Alec's office
What: Someone has to protect Nora's interests. That's what a kick ass BFF is for, isn't it?
Warnings: Knowing Dora, language and possibly threats of violence. TBD
She slept a bit better than she had been, probably because she'd been tired when she finally dragged herself to bed and cuddled up to Ewan. Final touches on those decorations and all that, getting ready for tomorrow. But she was still tired when she woke up. She made herself go on out for her run, and it did make her feel slightly more energized, for a little while at least. Something about the act of running had become soothing, the pace of it, the rhythm.
She was starting to find a reassuring routine, and she thought she could see a sketch of it coming into being. Slowly. Morning runs, breakfast with Ewan, work. Home and dinner, most days. Dragging him out sometimes to socialize sometimes. Staying in and puttering in her workshop some days. It was... a nice dream, she thought. She kept waiting for the other shoe to drop.
This morning, however, she was disrupting her routine. She dropped by Sweet Nothings and picked up stuff for two, not one -- and not Nora this time. She grabbed tea for the man she was going to drop in on, since she kenw from Nora what he liked, and then after a moment of thought, she grabbed a tea for herself instead of coffee. Breakfast wasn't liking her as much as she wanted it to.
Then a bag with yummies and she trotted off to where she knew his offices to be. She was glad, when she'd checked, that he wouldn't be at the clinic today or St Mungos. The latter would have had to wait, as getting her in there was difficult on the best of days. The Clinic was marginally less so. But his offices held no true anxiety for her. They were just... offices.
So she breezed in there with her cups, knowing it was too early for a proper appointment unless you were a true masochist, and started talking to the person at the desk, angling to see him immediately. Because though she liked him from school and all, and so far she really liked how he was with Nora... Nora would always win if there was a problem, and someone had to protect her friend since she was too prone to thinking she deserved the bad things for Dora's comfort.
