Tonks really did feel bad for this version of Teddy. She loved her son, but clearly he wasn't reacting well to there being another version of him. Of course, Tonks would be this Teddy's mother too. She had enough motherly love in her for the both of them. There would even be enough for a third, should a third arrive. She wasn't the discriminatory type at all, and if Teddy knew his mother at all, he really should have known that too. Unless his mother was from a world where she was a jerk. Then that would just be unacceptable and she'd have to show him the way a mother could really love him. Hopefully he wasn't though.
Tonks was nervous when she arrived, but not nearly as nervous as she got when she spotted a boy who looked like he could be Teddy when he got older. That was so eerie. She took a deep breath and approached him, managing a smile in his direction. Now here came the hard part. She wasn't sure why she was so nervous, but she was. He clearly hadn't grown up without a mum, so it meant she was alive in some world. But that also meant he had expectations. Damn.
