'Lo! ^_^
As an introduction, the name's Liz. I'm 13 and reside within San Diego county upon California's grounds. I've been a poet for a few years now, and find the need to build off of that branch by reading other works of art for my self and to help others construct and mold a better poet out of their soul.
The very thing that really gets me about poetry is how little it changes. Sure, there are everlasting fads of angst that come from poetry, but the words in a timely manner themselves never really change, just the people viewing and writing the sylables upon the blank tablet, creating it into an image of wonders and beauties.
Yes, I'm done now. Don't worry- I usualy don't rant that much over a period of time. Sample poetry: ((Sorry for the length e.e; And, more poetry found on my journal, along with www.freewebs.com/teh_liz ))
Take your choice,
pick just one.
You're journey
has started,
but not yet
begun.
Can you handle
the mountains,
the oceans,
the caves?
Can you file
through forests,
dreamily wanting
and yearning for
what lays ahead?
Come now, child,
let your tears fall.
As you walk along,
let them fall.
Let them fall.
You asend into
depths of youth
and old age,
you understand
things, in an
abstracted way.
Grow within yourself,
as you follow
your heart.
But if you need
to cry, come now,
child, let them
fall. Let them fall.
Journey through hate,
love, lust, and fate.
Show yourself
what you never
wanted to see.
Observe things
like never before,
with your minds eye,
let it work.
But if you walk,
and you're scared,
come now, child,
Cry to me.
Tell me your fears,
your secrets,
your beliefs.
And as you talk,
let your tears
fall. Let them
fall, let them fall.
I'm seeing with a
whole new light,
I now understand,
why for so long,
I had to search
this land.
Let me cry to you,
and tell you tales
I've once heard.
Let me call for you,
Let me allow
you to pick me up
hold me, suppoting
my quaking body,
and as I cry,
let my tears fall.
Let them fall, let them fall.
(c) me, Liz
