But she's trying, because a lot of rich people are at this event and rich people are the ones who can afford to make the kind of difference she would like to. Plus, the customer at the coffee shop who'd gotten her the invite is a really nice woman and she wouldn't want to make her feel bad by ending up causing a scene (something she tends to do from time to time when she gets pissed off).
So, she's tamed her hair a little and put on a nice dress and she's trying her best to behave. The charity they're trying to round up money for is not one she's involved with personally, but she's hoping to maybe find some support for her own causes as well if she can be polite enough about it.
What she's thinking? Save me.
