Despite the fact that she was already responsible for one bestseller, Sol had never actually been inside a bookbindery. Her publisher had taken care of all of that. This time around, she had a desire to be part of all steps of the process, hence the visit to Mr. Belby today.
"You can call me Sol," she said, holding her hand out to shake his. "In our language, Soledad actually means loneliness, and Sol means sun. You can guess which I prefer!" She grinned at her own little joke, made countless times over the years, while beside her Nico groaned.
"Ay, mami, otra vez?" he whined playfully, and Sol reached out a hand to ruffle his hair roughly.
"This is my son Nico," she introduced him to Marc. "And yes, I do think I remember you, though you're right that the hair threw me off a little. Gobstones, when we were little, right? And Charms later?"
It was time to get to the point of her visit. "So the reason I'm here, is that I'm currently writing my second book—the first in a series. My contract with the people who bound my first book has expired, and I wanted to work with people and resources closer to home this time."
