Video Gamers!

So, KH3 came out this week and I beat it last night and I was wondering if 1) anyone else is playing this and 2) if anyone else has beaten it because I have so many thoughts and emotions right now.

Is anyone else doing a replay of the Kingdom Hearts series in preparation of Kingdom Hearts 3 next month? If you are, what game are you on? I'm on re:CoM, Riku's story, and let me save you a world of pain and tell you that doing Sora's story on Proud mode is the worst decision you can make. But also, the Mega Flare sleight is also the best thing you can use (except on Wizards and Red Nocturnes).

Also, can we talk about theories and the multitude of trailers that's been released?




I just really wanna talk about Kingdom Hearts, guys.

So, since KH3 is coming out in January (supposedly - look, after 13 years of waiting in Azkaban, I have trust issues), I'm replaying the entire series. Is anyone else doing a replay who can commiserate with me on the utter bullshit and horror that is re: Chain of Memories? Because that's where I am, and I'm only on the third floor of Castle Oblivion and already I want to throw my controller against the wall.

Part of this may just be the fact that I'm playing on Proud mode because SOMEONE thought that if I could do KH1 on Proud Mode and beat both Sephiroth and the Unknown, I could do the rest of the games on Proud mode. (Me. Someone was me.)

Hey everyone! I wanted to start kicking these off on Mondays. If you have ideas for topics, please feel free to leave them below and I'll make a list so we have a stack of topics on hand!

Looking for a new game but don't want to commit? Several games are offering free trials this weekend!

First, Xbox is offering all Xbox Live members a free gold pass for the weekend, meaning you can play games online for free! This runs through Feb 18 at 11:59 p.m. PST.

Next up is Overwatch, the multiplayer, first-person shooter from Blizzard. The free trial is available on PS4, PC and Xbox from 2/16 - 2/19 at 11:59 p.m. PST! You'll need a Playstation Plus membership to play on PS4, but it'll be free on Xbox even without a live membership. Although largely team based, Overwatch has some arcade modes that are free-for-all, plus the ability to make custom games.

Rainbow Six Siege is also free this weekend on PS4, Xbox and PC. It runs from 2/15 through 2/18 at 1 p.m. PST (PC), 2/19 at 12 p.m. PST (Xbox) and 2/20 at 5 a.m. PST (PS4). Rainbow Six is a highly team-based tactical first-person shooter where teams are sent on missions. There are several modes, including rescuing hostages and defusing bombs. There are also a handful of missions that may be played solo.

Kalypso’s Dungeons II is free to play this weekend from GOG.com. This seems to be available only on PC through 2/18 at 2 p.m. UTC. Dungeons 2 is a strategy simulation game that challenges you to build a dungeon using minions to punish heroes of the Overworld.

Lastly, Fortnite Battle Royale is free on PC, Mac, Xbox and PS4 for the forseeable future. The 100-player PVP mode combines building and destroying forts with massive PVP action.

EDIT: Dead Space is now available free on Origin. The beloved horror game is free to play through Origin as part of its "on the house" offerings.

Hi everyone! I just wanted to kick this community off with a little idea post: what are you hoping to see here?

My thoughts in creating this were that it could be a place to find other gamers to play with, talk about video games, and maybe get help getting through levels or figuring out new games. But what else would you like? Weekly discussion topics? Memes? I know everyone has their own taste in games, so ideally I'd like to be as inclusive as possible.

Also, what do you think of the tag process? I locked editing to maintainers so we could keep things clean, but I am open to making them editable as long as everything stays easy to find.

Do we want an introduction post? Do we want it to be stickied and static, or reoccurring? Or do we not need to do introductions?
