"Pfft. Aunt Maude is the one who always feeds us those terrible chaulky biscuits. Come on, Roger. Who's good sense are you going to listen to?" Spencer spoke loudly, filled with the arrogance of being correct and this victory over Aunt Maude (how dare she give advice that could possibly be different from her nephew's best friend?! Honestly!).
Serena was very unused to being forcefed and also being dragged away from a conversation, but she had quickly come to realise that the dynamic her boyfriend's friends had was very quirky indeed. At least they were all nice!
Eating her steak, which had, as Spencer had promised, somehow turned out exactly the way she liked it. In fact, it was the best steak she had ever had. When she praised Spencer he had taken her comment with a benevolent smile.
"So, there's a long weekend coming up. Anyone have plans?" Serena snuck a peek at Roger, hoping this was presumptious of her. She was still so scared in a new relationship.
Spencer smiled warmly, tilted his head toward Dina. "Deeners?" His eyes were strikingly blue as he presided over the head of the table. "Any ideas?"
