"Indeed," Theodore said, pouring Tracey and then himself some tea. He evaded eye contact with Tracey as she spoke about her sister--not since he was he was afraid of being seen through. He was a lawyer. He didn't tend to show exactly what he felt. He just wanted to be sure that everything would be alright though. "I don't suspect that they've ever had a relation with Mrs. Davis." He echoed her thoughts, without adding anything further as he knew that what he had to say directly contradicted what she thought.
"Do tell me when you're ready to order," he added in the hopes of steering Tracey's mind away from her sister. He wondered how he was going to go about discussing something like getting some sort of meaningful job, or at least doing something dignified like normal (non-scandalous) travel.
