"The death of a parent is always trying," he added his tone of voice filled with a certain sympathy that wasn't common to him. He tended towards more of a distance between himself and others, but just about any mention of parentlessness brought his sympathy and understanding. It felt as if his father had passed away just yesterday at times, even if it had been years. And at times he can even say that about his mother who passed away many years before.
