"Charlotte!" Tracey hissed as she was gently but very firmly steered outside. "Did you see what they were doing? They were making a date to fu--" The rest of her words were lost as Charlotte took her outside.
There was a small, shocked silence from the gathered crowd, and then Mrs. Harris shook her head. "Poor Charlotte," she tsked. "It can't be easy to have such an embarrassment for a sister."
Someone else laughed, and the crowd dispersed.
A few minutes later, Charlotte returned, looking as cool and collected as ever, but Tracey was nowhere in sight. "My apologies, Theodore," she said crisply when she came up to him. "I hope that wasn't particularly uncomfortable for you."
